About TraceViewer
TraceViewer is used for tracing mobile equipment or subscribers in the networks. TraceViewer
can be also used to support network planning and optimization. After changing the network
parameters, users can easily verify that all sites are working as planned, by using graphical and
textual presentations. This tool is also used for real-time troubleshooting to follow the
functionality of the network and possible problems with a call.
Traces can be activated in many Network Elements, for example:
BSC
SGSN
HLR
BCUBTS
MSC
RNC (cRNC and mcRNC)
eNodeB
FlexiNS
GeoServer
IMS
OpenTAS
These network elements also forward the trace activations to other network elements as
described below:
HLR to MSC
HLR to SGSN
HLR to FLEXINS
MSC to RNC
MSC to BSC
MSC to MGW
SGSN to RNC
SGSN to BSC
FLEXINS to eNB
TraceViewer provides a mechanism for administrating, collecting and viewing information
related to a specific subscriber or mobile equipment.
For more information on the TraceViewer functionalists, see Tracing Overview.
For more information about the TraceViewer reports, see TraceViewer Report Description.
