Dear Poly Ambassador Team:

My name is Maddy Greathouse and last year I attended the Barrett Honors College retreat where I
heard about the opportunity to become a Poly Ambassador. I was very intrigued with the position and I
am now thrilled to be able to apply to this role in the Barrett Community! After reviewing the job
description, it’s clear you are looking for an enthusiastic applicant that can be relied upon to provide a
fully submerged and unique experience for students interested in Barrett. Given these requirements, I
feel I am the perfect candidate to share the student experience.

As you will see from my enclosed resume, I have some experience working with and serving customers
at an ice cream shop. During the time I worked there, I gained multiple skills that would allow me to
excel at the Poly Ambassador position such as communication, dependability and personability. I am a
very social, outgoing person and after holding the position as a server, I learned how to communicate
not only to customers but also with coworkers.

On top of my former work experience, I am also an out of state Freshman student participating in the
Environmental Resource Management degree program. Going to a completely new state for college can
be intimidating, however I can now take my unique experience and use it to relate to interested
students. I am also enrolled in the Human Event class this year and I live in Century Hall in the middle of
the Barrett Community, so the potential students interested in the Barrett program will get a firsthand
look at the community and connections made in this program. I hope I am able to leverage my skills into
the Poly Ambassador position at Barrett the Honors College.
