Product description
The A-ISOMETER isoMED427P monitors the insulation resistance of unearthed AC
circuits (medical “IT systems”). At the same time, the load current and temperature
of the IT system transformer is monitored.
In combination with EDS151 insulation fault locators and the appropriate measuring
current transformers, the isoMED427P is designed to set up the respective equipment
for insulation fault location.
Application
Medical system in accordance with IEC 60364-7-710, IEC 61557-8, IEC 61557-9 and
DIN VDE 0100-710

Insulation fault locator

The EDS151 insulation fault locator in conjunction with the A-ISOMETER isoMED427P
are designed for insulation fault location in unearthed power supplies (IT systems).
The locating current pulse generated by the isoMED427P is detected using the
integrated measuring current transformers and evaluated by the insulation fault
locators. The integration of six measuring current transformers in an EDS151 permits
all current-carrying conductors of an outgoing line to be routed through. The
response time for an alarm message inclusive of the indication on the respective
display device is 8s maximum (e.g. MK2430).
EDS151
A total of 87 EDS151 devices can be connected via an RS-485 interface (BMS
Device features protocol). Hence up to 528 circuits can be monitored. Activities on the BMS bus are
indicated by an alarm LED.

functional safety of the measuring current transformers is continuously monitored.
When a fault has been detected the alarm LED will flash. The alarm status remains
activated as long as the insulation fault exists.
