6 FACET OF UNDESRTANDING

Explain – Self defense is a valid act of defending oneself from perpetrators and from the harm
that they may do unto us. Thus, it is a skill that can acquire through trainings, it is also compose
of different offense and defense movements such as kicking, punching, blocking and many more.

Interpret – For me there is more than just a self defense it’s not only having knowledge and skills
on how to protect yourself and the others, but self defense can also build your confidence in
yourself, it can build your personality and it can build your discipline and character.

Application – Application of skill and knowledge in self defense can be used in competition
design for self defense, seminars and trainings and lastly if there’s an unlucky event that might
happen to you, you can apply in it, if you are confident.

Perspective - Self defense is design only for offense and defending yourself and others from the
perpetrators not for degrading and threating somebody who may seem weak. In addition, Self
defense is one of the most essential skill that everyone if us should acquire because nowadays no
safest place in this world, even in our own house we can encounter bad events in our lives so be
better prepared.

Empathy – Getting in a situation that you’ve been victimized by the criminals and no one is there
to help you is very hard and the only thing you can do is to give all that you have without even
defending yourself because you will be in danger if you do so, and the trauma that may cause to
you can affect badly your life, study, and work. And no one is hoping for anyone to be in that
situation, having the knowledge and skill in self defense it is my responsibility as a good citizen
to share this thing to anyone who is in need, and in able to protect themselves through the help that
I’ve gave to them is such a great fulfillment.

Self-Knowledge – Based on the lesson that we’ve been discuss, Self defense is not what most
people think it is. There's only one goal in self defense, and it isn't to beat up or take out an attacker
with martial arts moves. The goal of self defense is to prevent injury to yourself. Most of the time,
the vast majority of the time, physical techniques are not the best way to do that. The best way to
avoid injury is to prevent an attack from occurring in the first place, to prevent a physical conflict.
That way, there is no chance you'll sustain any injury at all. And it's not hard to do. It's far, far
easier than physical defense.
