I did not work this Sunday, because I was traveling back from Canada. I had worked

some of last week, but I took the time off as my “spring break” and I’ll be working when

GCSU’s spring break is happening to make up for the hours. When I started back up on Monday,

we were busy with people lined up all through 1 o’clock. We had to send one woman to the

emergency room, because she hadn’t eaten in four days and she had extremely low blood

pressure. We also saw a lot of strep throat and upper respiratory infections. It still is in cold and

flu season, so there isn’t much variety when it comes to what the patients are coming in for.

As far as the internship project goes, we have received five toy donations, and raised

$200 on the Facebook fundraiser! I am most likely going to bring the toys to the hospital at the

end of this week, but since I’m working three jobs it might have to be the beginning of next

week. I am having trouble coming up with a group to present to regarding the internship project

presentation that we must give, as well as having difficulties scheduling when to have it to

accommodate with the chaotic schedules that we all seem to have. I am finding myself more

stressed about this project each week, so I need to find a time to sit down and figure it out. I am

having trouble finding an audience to present to as well, since patients wouldn’t be a good
audience, and the work staff here is so small. Most of the donors are anonymous or don’t live

nearby, so it wouldn’t be beneficial to them, and it wouldn’t be smart to present to the children at

the hospital, since they are all fighting illnesses and having them together could make it worse.

Any suggestions on this project would be extremely helpful!

I have been making stronger bonds with the staff here at Roswell Urgent Care. I am

constantly working with Dr. Dennis and Mary, so they will be great professional connections to

have in the future. I am about to have to increase the hours that I work here so that I meet the

internship hours requirement. The internship is becoming slightly more stressful and is taking a

toll on me. I am feeling consumed and stagnant since it is so many hours here and it is not

something I want to do as a future career. I am trying to find some interest in the urgent care, so

hopefully something will click in the next few weeks.
