1- Introduction of Habib family

The history of the House of Habib goes back to middle of the

previous-to-last century when Esmail Ali of Jamnagar ,India, set up
asmall utensil factory in Bombay.His son Habib Esmail, born in1878,
founded the House of Habib. Habib was very young when hisfather
died, forcing him to join the business of his uncle Cassum
Mohammad, owner of Khoja Mithabai Nathoo,merchant,
andmanufacturer of copper and brass utensils. It was because of
hisassociation with Mithabai Nathoo that Habib Ismaeel came to
beknown as Seth Habib Mitha. DAWOOD HABIB Habib and Sons was
formed in the 1920’s to trade in cotton, copper, oil seeds, gold bullion
and other commodities and to act as a merchant bank. This in turn led
to the formation in 1941 of Habib Bank Ltd. Bombay, as a public
limited company

Company's segments include Trading and sales, Retail banking and Commercial banking. The
