2. Descriptive Statistics
A. The most expensive home was $804.989, with a lot size of .53 Acres. The Home has Air Conditioning,
and a living area of 4,021 Square Feet.
B. The largest lot size was 3.02 Acres. I identified it first by it being the maximum lot size in my
descriptive statistic script. Secondly, I generated an ascending list of the lot sizes on the JMP datasheet.
D. The interior shape is a histogram skewed to the right. The Mode from my chart was .25 Acres
E. One outlier in this Data for the Age category is present in the Age category is the 69 years old and in
above average condition.
F. While there are more units with Air Conditioning, the distribution for the sale price seems to be
somewhat similar.
3. A. 29.55% Of homes had gas-burning furnaces as well as central air conditioning.
4. A.
B. There appears to be a moderate correlation between the selling price and living area. I used
the Correlation multivariate analyze tool in JMP to find that the correlation coefficient is .71.
B. As we can tell, the median number of Bathrooms, Bedrooms, and the number of square
feet is much higher in the second data set. This proves that there is a correlation between the
selling price of the home compared to the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage
of the houses. We can justify this correlation because 140 is a large enough sample from the
total amount of observations.
