Este curso introduce a los alumnos al estudio de las Relaciones Internacionales como disciplina
científica frente a la historia política de los grandes estados modernos y contemporáneos. Más
específicamente, el curso examina los principales debates propuestos por las diferentes vertientes
teóricas de la disciplina, tanto en sus aproximaciones clásicas como críticas. Focalizando el
estudio en los aportes teóricos fundamentales, el contexto histórico de surgimiento y las
problemáticas específicas desarrolladas por las principales escuelas de pensamiento, la
asignatura busca dar cuenta de los hechos internacionales más sobresalientes de la actualidad.
Actividades de trabajo
1. Exámenes parciales: el curso será evaluado mediante dos exámenes parciales a desarrollarse
los días 18 de Mayo y 16 de Junio respectivamente. Ambas evaluaciones serán de carácter
individual y escrito, pudiéndose recuperar sólo uno de ellos. El tercer examen parcial
recuperatorio se desarrollará el día 22 de Junio.
3. Participación en clase: se espera que los estudiantes concurran a clases con el material de
lectura obligatorio preparado con anterioridad. La calidad y frecuencia de las intervenciones será
oportunamente evaluada. Asimismo, los estudiantes podrán complementar el material de lectura
asignado para cada clase con artículos académicos y/o periodísticos que podrán ser discutidos
brevemente al comienzo de cada encuentro.
Sistema de evaluación
Están pautados dos exámenes parciales de carácter individual y escrito, pudiéndose recuperar
sólo uno de ellos; lo que sumado a la aprobación de tres de los cuatro trabajos prácticos, otorga
la calidad de alumno regular al final del cuatrimestre.
