Reebaklens RR-Rust remover, cleaning and etching agent

Application instructions

For rusted metal (iron base):

Apply Reebaklens RR with brush for complete wetting of rusted metal surface and allowed to react it for 16-24 hours. After
24 hours, a white layer will appear which will protect further corrosion of metal / steel for about 5-7 days. Before applying
protective coating, the surface should be wirebrushed and thoroughly cleaned for dust with dry cloth.

Removal of rust and mill scale:

Pre-wet the floors, then using a stiff bristle broom, brush the affected areas with a solution of Reebaklens RR cleaning agent
and water. Strength of the solution required will vary but should be between 1: 1 and 1: 4 (Reebaklens RR cleaning agent to
water). When the action has finished, wash down thoroughly withclean water. Wire brush again to remove remaining
loosematerial and finish by thoroughly washing down with cleanwater. Repeat if necessary. High degree of rust or scale can
be removed by soaking in the Reebaklens RR cleaning agent solution for 60 minutes.

Coverage:
Approx. 2.0 - 2.5 m2/L
Note: coverage depends on the rusted area and the depth of deposition.

Nitozinc Primer-Two component epoxy zinc rich primer

Application instructions

Preparation:
Any corroded steel shall be fully exposed and all loose scale and corrosion deposits shall be removed. Steel should
becleaned to a bright condition paying particular attention tothe back of exposed steel bars. Grit-blasting isrecommended for
this process.Where corrosion has occurred due to the presence ofchlorides, the steel should be high-pressure washed
withclean water immediately after grit-blasting to remove corrosion products from pits and imperfections within itssurface.

Mixing:
Both components shall be mixed until a homogenous mixture is obtained. It is important that both components areintermixed
thoroughly and that no traces of the componentsremain unmixed. A slow speed heavy duty drill fitted with a
paddle is recommended for mixing.

Application:
The application of Nitozinc Primer must take place as soon as possible to a dry steel surface after completion of
thepreparation work but always within 3 hours. One full and unbroken coat of Nitozinc Primer shall be appliedusing a
suitable brush, making sure the surfaces of the steelare properly coated. A small brush is generally suitable forthis purpose. It
shall be allowed to dry fully before continuing. If in doubt of having achieved an unbroken coating, a secondapplication
should be made as soon as the first coat is fullydry (generally between 30 minutes and one hour)The primed surfaces should
not be left exposed to theelements for longer than necessary before over coating.Nitozinc Primer will, however, protect steel
under clean interiorexposed conditions for a period of several months. In nonaggressiveexterior environments, a maximum
interval of 14days will be tolerated but in industrial and/or marine environments this interval should be reduced to the
practical minimum. The application of concrete repair materials should proceedas soon as the Nitozinc Primer is fully dry
(generally 45 min.to 1 hour).

Coverage:
Nitozinc Primer 4 - 5 m2 / litre
Note: This coverage figure is theoretical - due to wastage factors, variety and nature of possible steel substrates, the practical
coverage figures may be reduced.
Nitobond EP
Epoxy resin concrete bonding agent

Application instructions

Preparation:
All surfaces to be treated must be firm, dust free and clean. All laitance should be removed by etching with Reebaklensand
wire-brushing. In some cases, the existing concrete mustbe chipped to a sound substrate. Where surfaces arecontaminated
with oil or grease, this should be removed byusing a strong industrial detergent or organic degreaser.Surface should be
washed thoroughly with water and driedbefore the application of Nitobond EP.

Mixing:
The entire contents of the hardener can should be poured into the resin container and the two materials thoroughly
mixeduntil a uniform colour is obtained. To facilitate application at temperatures below 10 0C the separate components
should be warmed in hot water to a maximum of 25 0C before mixing.

Coating:
Mixed Nitobond EP should be brush applied to the prepared surface. The new concrete should be placed within 6 hours at
300C to the Nitobond EP coated substrate, when it is in atacky state.

Coverage:
Approximately 2.6 m2/litre. Actual coverage will depend upon the texture and porosity of the substrate being covered.

RenderocS2
Two component structural grade polymer modified reinstatement mortar

Application instructions

Preparation
Saw cut or cut back the extremities of the repair locations to a depth of at least 10mm to avoid feather edging and to
providea square edge. Break out the complete repair area to aminimum depth of 10mm up to the saw edge.Clean the surface
and remove any dust, unsound orcontaminated material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosiondeposits or algae. Where
breaking out is not required, roughenthe surface and remove any laitance by light scabbling or gritsand blasting. Oil and
grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser. The
effectiveness of decontamination should then beassessed by a pull off test.Expose fully, any corroded steel in the repair area
and remove
all loose scale and corrosion deposits. Steel should be cleaned to a bright condition paying particular attention to theback of
exposed steel bars. Grit blasting is recommended forthis purpose.Where corrosion has occurred due to the presence of
chlorides, the steel should be high pressure washed with clean water immediately after grit sand blasting to removecorrosion
products from pits and imperfections within itssurface.

Reinforcing steel priming

Apply one full coat of Nitozinc Primer and allow to dry before continuing.

Substrate priming
The substrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean waterand any excess water removed prior to applying one coat of
Nitobond AR primer and scrubbing it well into the surface.Renderoc S2 can be applied as soon as the primer becomes tacky.
If Nitobond AR is too wet, vertical build up of theRenderoc S2 mortar may be difficult. In exceptional circumstance, e.g.
where a substrate/repair barrier is required or where the substrate is wet or likely to remain permanently damp, Nitobond EP
bonding aid should be used.
Mixing
Care should be taken to ensure that Renderoc S2 is thoroughly mixed. A forced-action mixer is essential. Mixing in a
suitable sized drum using an approved spiral paddle in aslow speed ( 500 rpm) heavy duty drill is acceptable for
theoccasional one bag mix. Free fall mixers must not be used. For normal application, use 3.25 to 3.50 litres of
drinkingquality water per 25 kg bag of Renderoc S2. Always add polymer in to water and mix for 2 minutes. Then add
powder slowly and mix for 3 minutes until homogeneous material results. Depending on the ambient temperature and the
desired consistency, the amount of water required may varyslightly but should not exceed 3.5 litres per 25 kg bag of
Renderoc S2 under any circumstances.
Application
Exposed steel reinforcing bars should be firmly secured toavoid movement during the application process as this willeffect
mortar compaction, build and bond.Apply the mixed Renderoc S2 to the prepared substrate by gloved hand or trowel.
Thoroughly compact the mortar on tothe primed substrate and around the exposed reinforcement.Renderoc S2 can be
applied from a minimum of 5mm to15mm thickness in smaller pockets or with the use of formwork. If form work is used it
should have properly sealedfaces to ensure that no water is absorbed from the repairmaterial. In horizontal locations,
Renderoc S2 can be appliedup to 100mm thickness. If sagging occurs during application to vertical surfaces, theRenderoc S2
should be completely removed and reappliedat a reduced thickness on the correctly reprimed substrate. Renderoc S2 should
not be applied as a render on largeareas.
Note: The minimum applied thickness of Renderoc S2 is5mm.

Finishing
Renderoc S2 is finished by striking off with a straight edge and closing with a wooden or plastic floats, or damp spongesmay
be used to achieve the desired surface texture. Thecompleted surface should not be over worked.

RenderocRG
General purpose, non-shrink, cementitious micro-concrete.

Application instructions

Preparation
The unrestrained surface area of the repair must be kept to a minimum. The formwok should include drainage outlets forpre-
soaking and, if beneath a soffit, provision for airventing.Provision must also be made for suitable access points topour or
pump the mixed micro-concrete in place.Defective concrete surfaces must be cut back to a sound base.Smooth surfaces
should be mechanically roughened.Corroded reinforcing steel should be exposed around its fullcircumference and cleaned to
remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits. It is important to clean the steel to a bright condition. Grit-blasting is
recommended. One coat of Nitozinc Primer should be applied on thereinforcing steel. If any discontinuity in the applied film
isnoticed, one more coat has to be applied.Several hours prior to placing, the concrete substrates shouldbe saturated with
clean water. Immediately prior to placing, any free water should be removed.Alternatively, all prepared concrete substrates
should beprimed using Nitobond EP, a slow - setting epoxy bond aid.Nitobond EP shall be applied only on dry substrate.
Note : For repair sections generally deeper than 100mm it may be necessary to mix the Renderoc RG with properlygraded
5mm to 12mm silt-free aggregate to minimisetemperature rise. The quantity of aggregate required mayvary depending on
the nature and configuration of the repairlocation. The typical results with a few aggregate proportions, for various
applications are furnished below for guidelines.

Yield
Approximately 13.0 litres per 25 kg bag. Actual yield per bag will depend on the consistency of Renderoc RG and quantityof
coarse aggregate added.

Concure WB
Water based concrete curing compound
Application instructions

Application
Exposed concrete slabs: Concure WB should be spray applied on to the newly placed concrete slab as soon aspossible after it
is free from visible surface water, e.g. typically 1 to 2 hours after placing.
Shuttered and precast concrete: Concure WB curing agentshould be spray applied to all surfaces as soon as formworkhas
been removed or the element demoulded.
In all cases the nozzle of the spray should be held approximately 450mm from the concrete surface and should be
passedback and forth to ensure complete and even coverage. The pump pressure should be maintained at a level to produce
afine spray ensuring complete coverage of the surface.Rate of application depends on requirements but is typicallywithin the
range of 200 to 285 ml/m2.

Equipment
The preferred and generally used equipment is a knapsack sprayer of the type commonly used in horticulture or pestcontrol.
The ideal type is a knapsack sprayer with a capacityof between 5 - 10 litres fitted with a 2.0m lance and adjustable
spray nozzle.

Equipment cleaning
Immediately after use the spray equipment should be cleaned out thoroughly with fresh water. If the spray nozzle
becomesblocked with wax particles these can easily be removed using white spirit or similar fluid.

Coverage rate
The recommended coverage rate is between 3.5 and 5.0 sq.m / litre (0.200 to 0.285 litres/sq.m). Coverage ratesoutside this
recommended range may be used if necessary and suitable to meet specific requirements. Contact localFosroc office for
advice in such cases.
