QUESTION: DESCRIBE AN INTERESTING MEMBER OF YOUR CLASS.

Have you ever had that one special friend that you knew would be there for you through thick and
thin? That one special friend, who can read your thoughts, finish your sentences, and make you
smile when you are feeling blue? A friend is someone who is honest and you can trust, someone
who you hang out with, and someone you rely on. Friendship is being there for someone when
they need you. In fact, to most people living on this earth believe that friend is the most important
part of their lives. There have been lots of sayings, quotes, movies and music about theme,
friendship; and this also impacted many people in the way they see the idea of having friend and
that it is worthwhile to have someone to hang on. So, who is this person that plays an important
role in my life?

My mother once told me that “Do not ever expect unexpected things to happen in our
lives”, and I totally agree with her because I never thought that I will have this one friend who had
totally change me. I had the opportunity to know him because we were studying in the same place
and were placed in the same class as we both took the same course. At first, I was quite sad
when I first went to Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) because I needed to stay away from my family
and friends in my previous study area. Besides, the whole people in my class seemed to be not
so happy too. But, this one happy and weird boy, stand up to cherish everyone by saying that he
was also sad when he has to stay away from his family, but after the orientation week was over,
he found that he should be really grateful because he was given a new family who will support
him through thick and thin for five years. Everyone were pleased by his word and from that day, I
was started to feel comfortable with my classmates.

He was given a quite meaningful name, Mohamad Amirul Hakim bin Md Samiri. Most of
student in IPG called him Iyul because he feel comfortable when people call him by using that
nickname. I am the only one who called him Yun because I think the name “Yun” is kind of unique
nickname. He lives in Batu Pahat, Johor and he is the eldest among his siblings. He has one
younger sister and one younger brother. The interesting part is that he was the youngest person
in our class as he was born on 1st of January 1999. Surely, he has the same aged as my younger
brother! Although he was the youngest, he also the tallest person in my class. On the first
semester, I sat behind him and I found it is hard for me to see what was on the whiteboard because
all I can see is his back head. But it does not burden me because he was kind and tolerate enough
to lower his height, so that I can see what happened at the front. He loves to eat everything
because he is not a choosy person.

 In addition, Yun has a very good looking face. As we know, eyes are the windows of soul.
He has a very beautiful pair of eyes. The colour of his brown almond-shape eyes are as the colour
of the leaves during the autumn. His eyelashes are not too thick but they were very long and flicks
enough to highlight his eyes colour. When he smiles or laughs, his eyes become very tiny and
small which makes him look very cute. Yet, his black soft angled eyebrows are perfectly formed
and not too thick which is suitable for his walnut skin that glowed on his oval-shaped face. Besides
that, his thin, flat nose makes his face looks just like Andrew Garfield, the Amazing Spiderman
actor. Other than that, his sensuous pinkish lip was decorated with a very strong, beautiful, white
and neatly arranged tooth line. I love to see when he is smiling because he has a mysterious
smile where it could warm and pleased anyone around him especially his friends. His cheekbones
and jawbones accentuate his charm. Every time he takes photos, the pictures turn out to be very
smart, creative and have its own style, just like a model! I bet there is no rotten pictures of him
although sometimes he loves to make funny faces when taking photo. I do not know what kind of
perfumes does he wears daily, but all I can smell is a vanilla musk scent. Although after the
physical education class, I can still smell the sweet aroma of his baking vanilla cheese bread
perfume!

Next, his daily outfit. As his major and elective classmates, of course I can remember
anything that he wears because most of our times were spent in classes. He loves black colour
so much, but it is hard to look he wearing something black. His body measurement was not too
big or too small, so he is doing just fine wearing anything. Different from other days, Monday is
the only day where there is no physical education subject. So, I can see he wears the formal shirt
with black slack trousers, black formal shoes and blazers. He looks stunningly awesome and
handsome every time he puts his blazer on! His outfit when he going out looks so simple, but very
stylish and suitable with him. Sometimes, he will just wears t-shirt with jeans and slippers, but still,
he looks very nice and handsome. Other than that, he also looks incredibly charming when he
wears the complete Baju Melayu with samping and songkok. I am very sure that whoever see him
wearing Baju Melayu will straightly fall in love with his charm.

 As great as his appearances, he is also a very talented person. First of all, he was very
talented in acting. On August 2017, he was been given an opportunity to play the role as main
actor. As his friend, I was very proud with him because it is not easy for anyone to gain that
chances and in the end, he managed to play the role successfully when he wins the male best
actor category. Not just talented in acting, he also engages himself in poetry competitions where
he successfully winning the second place among ten competitors. Other than that, Yun was also
a good and genius speaker because he always has high self-esteem. He loves to share ideas
and exchanges them with others to improve himself. Besides that, he was also a good singer. His
melodious voice was able to attract anyone to listen to his song. The most interesting point is that
he does not only involving himself in acting, singing and anything else, but he also engaging
himself in sports such as rugby, football, badminton, soccer and volleyball. As far as I know him,
rugby is his main passion in sport. I used to watch he plays rugby during the match between all
IPG and he was very good during that game. He was the one who always raise his voice to
support his team members.

Even though he was two years younger than me, he never act awkwardly whenever he
with me. Besides, he was the one who always makes the situation to be more relax and
comfortable. The main reason that I feel comfortable with him is because he is a very funny
person. He loves to make jokes and everyone enjoying his funny actions. But, when he was given
responsibilities to handle any works, he could be a very serious and strict person in a correct way
but he still can makes everyone feel comfortable with him. Some of my classmates are afraid with
him because his moods are not fixed. Sometimes he was very happy and cheer, but sometimes
he will just keep quiet and not joking with others when he was not in a good mood. In my personal
opinion, there are no reasons for me to be afraid with him because we cannot feel happy at all
the time and vice versa. He always gives his positive vibes by cheering other people when they
were unhappy, and I think that it is a must for us to repay his kindness by cheering him back
during his hectic day.

 Other than that, he is also a caring person. I still remember the day when I lost my ticket
at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), he was the one who helped me to find another ticket
because my other friends had already go home. He also lend me his money because my bank
card could not be detected by the machine. Without his help, surely I cannot go home to celebrate
Hari Raya Haji. On the other hand, there was one of our classmates who was faced an injury
during playing football. During physical education class, we have to jog before doing the activity.
Everyone were jogging except the injured boy because he was allowed to walk. Suddenly, I
noticed that Yun was not there among the boys. When I looked at back to search for him, I saw
he walked with the injured boy. I asked him why he walked with that boy. He said that if everyone
were jogging, that boy will be left behind, and if something happened to that boy, no one would
noticed it. I was very proud with his answers because although he was the youngest in our class,
but he have the most matured ways of thinking.

Yun is also a good leader. I am very comfortable to be in his team because he knows how
to create a very relax and enjoyable situation in group. He never pressured other teammates to
do works or even raising his voice. He prefers to be strict in his own way. The way he controlled
other members from having any misunderstanding is by always asking other teammates opinions
before proceeding to any ideas. He never makes his own decisions without his members’
agreement. Yun also told us to work smart, not work hard because in order to achieve good marks
by working in group, we also can strengthen our friendship. I am very touched with his answer
because for him, family and friends should come first before anything. In addition, he is also a
humble person because he really do not like to be pleased by anybody. He never felt that he is
the best, the greatest or else because he does not want anyone to have any high expectations
about him. Yun also afraid if he was too comfortable with all the words of praises, he will be an
arrogant person.

The reasons why I choose to describe him is because I was very influenced and affected
in a positives ways with all his personalities. Nowadays, it is very tough to find this type of friend
as everyone were becoming more selfish, ego, backstabber and else. Although we just knew for
one and a half year, I felt that I already knew him for a very long time. I really hope that our
friendship will lasts forever even though we are going to follow different path after graduating. I
am also hoping that Yun will never stop to be a better person and be blessed in his life and
manage to be a very successful teacher in future.
