Course Description:

Business policy and strategy is a set of managerial decisions and actions that determines the
long run performance of a corporation. It includes environmental scanning (both external and
internal), strategy formulation (Strategic or long-run planning), strategy implementation, and
evaluation and control. They study of business policy and strategy, therefore, emphasizes the
monitoring and evaluating of external opportunities and threats is light of a corporation’s
strengths and weaknesses. This is a 03 credit hour course, comprising 03 hours of teaching per
week.

Course Objective:

The objective of this course is to help students acquire the specific knowledge, skills, and
abilities associated with business policy and strategy so that they are actually prepared to
perform the essential functions that business policy and strategy consultants are expected to
perform. After completing this course students will be able to:

 Scan the organizations environment which includes both external and internal.
 Formulate different strategies based upon short term and long term planning.
 Apply the above mentioned formulated strategies in a real time scenario.
 Analyze the implemented strategies with the proper evaluation and monitoring
tools for effective feedback. 

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to understand:
1. The importance of Business policy and Strategy in accordance with the organizational
requirements.
2. The application of different strategies in combination with different tactics according to
organizational needs and wants.
3. The application of different tools to successfully evaluate the applied strategies and
procedure in accordance with the organizational current requirements and environment.

Teaching Methodology:

The application of the concepts delivered during lecture is vitally important for learning. It will
be my job to provide you with the theory with application oriented assignments. I assure you that
with your active participation in class and assignments, you would be able to develop your work
based learning skills set along enjoying the subject.
