Visa Information for Pakistani Students

There is no otherway except to apply for Residence Permit i-e Visa out of Pakistan uptil now i-
e 2013. It might be possible in distant future to apply within Pakistan but not for now. There are
many neighbouring countries where Finish embassy is present (India, Iran, China, Nepal, etc)
But Abu Dhabi is considered an easy to go place for Pakistanis.

Yes this thing demand an amount of approximately one lac Pakistani rupees.

(Dubai visa 10000 + Abu Dhabi Return ticket (From Islamabad to Abu Dhabi) = 35000 +
embassy fee 300 Euros = 38000/- Pakistani Rupees approximately)

There is no interview. You just have to show your documents. VISA RATIO IS HIGH. Mostly
students get the visas.

Required Documents

1. Original degrees i-e Bachelor Degree plus Transcript, Fsc, Matric etc.
2. IELTS certificate original
3. Acceptance / Admission letter from the Finish University.
4. Health insurance, you can have it from universal insurance 042
37353315, 37324244, 37355426, 37313878, and 37353458. It will cost 11500 rupees. Here is

5. Bank statement of 6720 euros as in 2013. The money must be in your own account even
if you borrow it from your mother or father. Your university shall inform you the exact
sum of money if it gets changed. Normally 3 months bank statement is required. But this
does not mean that you should have the money for three months in your bank account.
Transfer your money atleast 2 to 3 weeks before your visit to the embassy. If borrowing
money from father, then you have to show your father’s bank statement also from where
the money is being transferred.
6. Online Application form for visa. You have to fill online on
www.migri.fi/services/application_forms/residence_permit_application_forms under this
page there is a section called studying. You shall find the application form under this
heading named OLE_OPI. To be on the safe side take out the print of the application.
7. 2 photos with white background length 47 mm and width 36 mm (Take care of the
specifications provided)
8. Passport and its two copies
9. Citizenship/National ID card and its two copies
Visa Processing Times

Normal Processing Times for Visa are from 2 weeks to 4 weeks and some time 8 weeks
depending upon the completion of your documents. So complete your application in all respects.
In case of missing documents, processing time can take longer time than normal.

Tips

Find a friend or relative in UAE. You can stay there for 2 to 4 days to avoid accommodation
expenditure and other expense...!!

Dubai Visa costs around 10 to 11k rupees, and you will get it in 3 to 4 days. Contact any travel
agent for this.

Insurance shall cost you 11500 rupees.

As soon as you receive the admission letter book an appointment with the Finish embassy,
because later on the immigration department gets too many students visa appilcations
causing delay in your processing time. It’s my personal advice.

 IELTS Minimum band 6.5 (no band less than
5.5)

 CGPA atleast 2.7 preferred.

 The students having less cgpa can apply if

they have job experience certificates
atleast 1 year.
 You can land Finland within 2 Lacks including initial
cost in applying i.e. ielts, attestation ,visa process,
air ticket , Shopping and other stuff.

 Normal living standard here is high. But for

Pakistani’s 250 euro – 300 euro per month is
sufficient.

 This includes the accommodation and eating

expenses.

 Odd jobs are hard to find because of language

barrier.

 But when there is a will there is way mostly students

find the jobs sooner or later.
 There are a lot of Pakistani in Helsinki
,Tampere, Turku, Oulu.
 Mostly are doing full time job in Nokia and
studying in top universities of Finland.
 Clear IELTS as soon as possible with
minimum 6.5. band. I recommend to apply
for ielts now because you will be given test
date of atleast 1 month later in which you can
prepare for ilets

 If your Cgpa is low try to cover this with

gaining some job experience letter.

 Apply in time for online application.

 Work on your SOP (Statement of purpose). Take
help from Sir Waqas Idress in this topic.

 If you are student of 7th or 8th Semester you will

required for Hope certificate.

 If you are Graduated Attest your Degree and

Transcript from HEC.

 Attestation of Matriculation and Intermediate

certificate as soon as possible for both studying
and graduated students
 If any one don’t have Passport apply for
Passport now. Because it will take almost 2
months
 When you get selected apply for the visa as
soon as possible.
 Embassy require amount equivalent to 6000
Euros in your personal account.
 All Original Documents
 Medical insurance from any Insurance
Company.
 Visa fee 30,300 Pkr
 Bring at least 2000 euro’s while coming to be
on safe side for at least 7 8 months.
 Bring warm jackets and Winter shoes when
coming.
 Because of extreme weather condition in
Winter (-35 Degree Celsius)
 Bring Driving license (Highly Recommended)
 Electrical Power Field:

Apply to Germany or Norway. They are best in this

field.
The only problem is Fixed bank account
requirement i.e. you having to transfer more than
10 lacks in that country and you bounded to keep
it there for whole study period.
 Communication ,Embeded, Signal processing:
Apply in Finland ,Tampere uni of Technology, University of
Oulu, University of Turku.

 Scholarships in Europe:

Search for Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.

Apply to University of Trento Italy.

(Highly Recommended to apply in uni of trento)
