LEARNING STORIES: A FRAMEWORK FOR ASSESSMENT (NOTICING)


Learning and development of each child is best documented in Learning Stories. Every teacher must put great effort in
writing the stories of the children. As a teacher, we should always think that every child is unique, they have their own
way of learning and we need that uniqueness to guide our work.

The first part of the 3-part series of the Learning Story workshop tackles about the noticing part in the learning of the
children. When we are telling a story, we always need to put in mind that the children and their family are the audience,
the primary reader. And it is just important that we think about them when we are starting to write our learning story.
We should consider the story that is memorable to them, something that they would find interesting to revisit when
they grow older.

Some key points that I have learnt during the workshop:
