    Rasmus Storm was a dancing master, fiddler and sailor born on

    the Danish island of Funen in the 1730s. His notebook was


    compiled around the 1760s, and contained popular dance tunes
    of the day. Although mostly traditional, there may also be tunes
    of his own composition.
    There are marches, polskas from Sweden, minuets, the favourite
    courtly European dance of the time. The combination called
    "dantz og Proportion", follows a sprightly dance in common time
    with a slower 3/4 version of the same tune. The Serra also seems
    to be a Swedish import, related to the Polska.
