The FSCJ Honors Program and You: Perfect Together!

Are you seeking an academically challenging and exciting learning experience?

Are you looking for a supportive learning community composed of other dedicated students
and knowledgeable, caring faculty?

Then look no further than Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Honors Program!

The FSCJ Honors program offers academically talented and gifted students an opportunity to
earn an Associate in Arts degree within an intellectually vibrant learning community. Our
students have been accepted into institutions such as the University of Florida, the University of
South Florida, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and the University of North
Florida.

In addition to taking honors courses, students will engage in a total of 60 service learning hours
throughout the A.A. degree, thereby making a positive difference in the lives of other College
and community members. Last year, honors students earned service learning hours by
collectively contributing over 500 hours of service to the greater Jacksonville community!

Students will also benefit from the variety of co-curricular learning and leadership opportunities
that abound at the College. Current honors students include Phi Theta Kappa inductees,
Forensics team members, and leaders in FSCJ clubs. Additionally, honors students have also
attended the Business Speaker Series, heard a Supreme Court Justice member speak, and
networked with Jacksonville leaders at a dinner downtown.

Ideal candidates for admission to the FSCJ Honors program are those who:
 Have a high school G.P.A. (unweighted) of 3.2 or higher
 Have college-ready scores on standardized exams
 Have a desire to serve others through service learning
 Submit a thoughtful and compelling application essay
