ABSTRACT

Online Yaatra Reservation system is only focused on to provide the travelling facility to
the Indian travelers including the facility of bus booking and any other automotives and also
provide the facility of choosing the destination where the person wants to go.

It is simple to understand and can be used by anyone who is not even familiar with the other
states where the teerth is saturated. It is user friendly and just asks the user to follow step by
step operations by giving him few options. It is fast and can perform many operations of a
company.

This software package has been developed using the powerful coding tools of html at Front
End and xampp Server at Back End. The software is very user friendly. The package contains
different modules like tour pacakges. This version of the software has multi-user approach.
For further enhancement or development of the package, user’s feedback will be considered.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECT
The purpose of this software is to describe the Railway Reservation System which provides
the rail timing details, reservation, enquiry, billing and cancellation on various
types of reservation namely:-
i). Confirm reservation for confirm seat
ii). Reservation against cancellation

The Bus ticket reservation system is currently maintaining the project Transport Company’s
process manually which is a very time consuming process. It deals with transport industry’s
ticket booking and transport maintenance, so it becomes a very tedious job for the ticket
booking transporter to look after these particulars to complete the task at right time. The bus
ticket booking system not only deals with transporters owned vehicles but also takes into
consideration about the other types project of system transport vehicles available with other
transporters .

To develop a software application that supports Specific to the project Travel Agency
Automation that can solve all tedious tasks related to ticket booking in a yaatra.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
In this world of growing technologies everything has been computerized. With large number
of work opportunities the Human workforce has increased. Thus there is a need of a system
which can solve the problem which are faced by the travelers and make a better solution .
This project simplifies the task of maintain records because of its user friendly nature.

The bus

consideration about the other types project of system transport vehicles available with other
transporters .

To develop a software application that supports Specific to the project Travel Agency
Automation that can solve all tedious tasks related to ticket booking in a travel agency.

This system will lead to increase in the ticket booking efficiency of the project Staff and
members of the Ticket Booking Agency with little throughput.

This system project is made as user friendly as possible so that any one can use it with
little knowledge of system computers.

The ticket booking project will reduce the ticket booking tedious job of system
paperwork by keeping all the project details of bus ticket booking, cancelling tickets are
stored in the form database in computer’s hard disk.

Up-to-date information of the system Performance status and other enquires.

We provide up to date information that is not possible manually.

The objective of my project is to make easy the ticket booking project system of Ticket
Booking Agency simple, reliable, user friendly, and corrective. Moreover less time
consuming as compared to manual work.
Report of the ticket booking different aspects can be generated like Available sits, current
status of booking Cancelling details monthly status report etc.

During the project past several decades personnel function has been transformed from a

Relatively obscure record keeping staff to central and top-level management function.

There are many factors that have influenced this system transformation like technological

Advances, professionalism, and general recognition of human system beings as most

important resources.

A computer based management system is designed to handle all the project primary

information required to maintain the ticket booking project library system .

This project intends to introduce more user friendliness in the various activities such as
record updation , maintenance, and searching of books.

The searching of system record has been made quite simple as all the ticket booking details
of the customer and can be obtained by simply keying in the project identification of that bus
Ticket Booking

Similarly, record maintenance and updation can also be accomplished by using the
identification of the ticket booking system customer with all the details being automatically
generated. These details are also being promptly automatically updated in the master file
thus keeping the record absolutely up-to-date.

The project entire information has maintained in the project database or Files and whoever
wants to retrieve can’t retrieve, only authorization user can retrieve the necessary information
which can be easily be accessible from the file.

The main objective of the project entire activity is to automate the ticket booking process of
day to day activities of system Library like:

1. Ticket activities.

2. Creation of a Customer id.

3. Assign a bus Tickets according to customer’s demand.

4. Advance bookings.

5. BusTicket Cancellation.

6. Feedback
SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS
Software Engineers have been trying various tools, methods and procedures to control the
process of software development in order to build high quality software with high
productivity. This method provides “how it is” for building the software while the tools
provide automated or semi automated support for the methods. They are used in all stages of
software development process, namely, planning, analysis, design, development and
maintenance. The software development procedure integrates the methods and tools together
and enables rational and timely development of the software system.

Methods Tools

Tools

They provide the guidelines as how to apply these methods and tools, how to produce the
deliverable at each stage, what controls to apply, and what milestones to use to assess the
performance of the program. There exist a number of software development paradigms each
using a different set of methods and tools. The selection of a particular paradigm depends on
the nature of application of the programming language used for the controls and the
deliverables required. The development of such successful systems depends not only on the
use of appropriate methods and techniques but also the developers’ commitment to the
objective of the system.
A successful system must: -

1. Satisfy the user requirements

2. Be easy to understand by user and operator

3. Be easy to operate

4. Have a good user interface

5. Be easy to modify

6. Be expandable

7. Have adequate security control against the misuse of data

8. Handle the errors and exceptions satisfactorily

9. Be delivered on schedule within the budget.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION (SRS)

The aim of the system is to develop “online yaatra reservation” website, which should
automate the process to create and store travelers details . The system is supposed to be used
as a subsystem in a large office system, which could be manual system or a computerized
one. Therefore, the proposed system must be able to function under both circumstances.

The proposed system is not a freeware and due to the usage of swings, becomes user
interactive.

SYSTEM STUDY & ANALYSIS

PRINCIPLES OF BOOKING SYSTEM ANALYSIS

1. Understand the ticket problem before you begin to create the bus ticket analysis model.

2. Develop prototypes that enable a user to understand how human machine interaction will
occur.

3. Record the bus ticket origin of and the reason for every requirement.

4. Use multiple behavioral views of booking requirements like building data, function
and Models.

5. Work to eliminate ambiguity.

ENTITY RELATIONSHIP DIAGRAM (ERD)
Entity – Relationship Diagram: This depicts relationship between data objects. The bus
attribute of each data objects noted

In the entity - relationship diagram can be described using a

Data object description. Data flow diagram serves two purposes:

1. To provide an indication of booking how data are transformed as they move through The
bus ticket system.

2. To depict the ticket functions that transformation the data flow.’

Data Objects: A data object is a representation of booking almost any composite

information that must be understood by the ticket bus software. By composite information,
we mean something that has a number of different properties or attributes. A data object
encapsulates data only there is no reference within a data object operations that act on the bus
data.

Attributes: Attributes define the ticket properties of a data object and take on one of

Three different characteristics. They can be used to:

Name an instance of data object.

Describe the bus ticket instance.

Make reference to another instance in other table.

<p>5 decade back a man named Shiv Charan Lal Agarwal used to sell beans and holy
books at Laxman Jhula Rishikesh has now become a famous personality who conducts
the holy journey for the pilgrims by the way of trains. Now a days this man is renowned
by the owner of Shri Shiv Shankar Tirth Yatra. He was born on 22nd December 1932 at
Hindon City in Rajasthan and he was not even highly educated. His father owned a
shop of daily need items. His father was a religious man. He used to get wood from
forest for cooking purposes and then distributes the food in poor and hungry people. He
used to curse him that you are giving away your food to villagers but you don’t even
care about your son whether he has eaten food properly or not? Shivcharan used to
hear all these tantrums of people. <br><br>He thought to achieve something good in his
life so he left his village and went to Agra. He became vegetable dealer and did this
work for at least 2 years in the meantime his cousin brother helped him financially and
then on 1960 he came to Rishikesh with his sons Laxmi Narayan, Bhagwan Das and his
daughter Rukmani devi and with his wife Sampati devi. Now they started to sustain
their life in a small cottage named Taalvali Dharamshala.</p>
<p>In 1960 he started a business to sell beans for monkeys. That time the bus stand
used to situate on Laxman Jhula marg Ludinga Mandi. Shivcharan used to tell that the
whole family was living in a single small room and it was congested so he used to sleep
under a tree near state bank of India. After a year later he started a business to sell
religious books. On 1962 he able to got some space for his own stall at bus stand for
selling purposes. His wife always appreciated and supported him to the path of his life.
His wife also used to work of making frames for books in a same position for about 12
hours.<br><br> After some time he got a room in Chameli Mai cottage and there he
expanded his work of selling religious books. Religious nature Shivcharan made a
construction of two rooms in a Sanskrit College at Muni ki Reti.</p>
<p>On 1963 he for a place for his stall on Railway station and his business was kept on
expanding. He used to live far from the stand so he had to visit railway stand at 04:00
am everyday walking and carrying 20 – 30 kgs of books on his shoulders. Shivcharan
used to say at that time there used to come a special train. On 1967 he booked a single
compartment on a train and sent on a pilgrimage with people. But due to insufficient
financial resources he had to close down the work. After that on 1980 the owner of Gita
Bhawan Swargashram Swami vad vayasanand ji sent a special train on pilgrimage
filled with people and Shivcharan was appointed as the manager of the journey. With
that journey Shivcharan earned 15 thousand bucks.<br><br> Same as before on 1980
again a special train booked for pilgrimage from Parmarth Niketan and sent away and
again Shivcharan appointed as the manager. Shivcharan discussed that at first he
appointed as a manager and sent away on a journey, he met with a businessman named
Bhagwan Das Goyal in Delhi. This businessman encouraged him a lot. He has provided
funds for the pilgrimage as well as arranged pilgrims for the journey. From that day
onwards his business started prospering and now the time has arrived when Shivcharan
has been known as “Dhoti Vala Baba― all over the place. His company has
prospered over the time and became very popular and now there are around 13 other
companies which are having almost similar name as Shiv Shankar Tirth Yatra. His son
Bhagwan Das disclosed that until now he has been helping his father on his business and
they had taken more than 2 lakh people to their destined places over the span of 44
years.
<br><br>
This company conducts pilgrimage in an organized manner in which the pilgrims are to
be provided good quality food, Satsang programmes, medical facilities and complete
information of the places they visit. We take special care of Senior citizens and there are
a team of attendants who attends and resolves all the issues for them. Not only this we
organize food facility on the way of journey and also provide bus facility for the
pilgrims to visit holy places nearby. Our Company organizes a pilgrim through bus as
well for four destination holy places very well known in India. After a long struggle and
hard work in the life of Shivcharan, still he’s famous for his soberness and
generosity. He’s willing to take the path of righteousness. He has never forgotten his
old days.<br><br> He has never left sleeping on a cot like any other mango people.
He’s a believer that we should always have dedication, honesty, willingness and
truthfulness as our first priority in our work. Our motive is not to earn money but to
fulfill the desires of pilgrims who wants to reach the places of our Holy God.

SOFTWARE LIFE CYCLE MODEL

The series of stages depicting the various tasks involved in development process is called
Software Life Cycle Model. The model implemented by us is Waterfall Model, which is most
widely used in procedure-oriented development. This model attempts to break up the identifiable
activities into series of actions, each of which must be completed before the next begins. The
activities include problem definition, requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance.
Further refinements to this model include iteration back to previous stages in order to incorporate
any changes or missing links.

The phases and the outputs of the waterfall model at each phase are summarized below in tabular
format.

software development projects starts with some needs and ends with some software that
satisfies those needs. A software development life cycle specifies the set of activities that
should be preformed to go from user needs to final products. There are different models of
SDLC process and each model specifies the activities and the order in which they should be
preformed. Depending on the nature of project, a suitable model is chosen and the entire
process of software requirement analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance is
preformed accordingly.
Various life cycle models are present, but our system is based on WATER FALL MODEL,
which is most widely used in procedure oriented development. This model attempts to break
up the identifiable activities into series of action, each of which must be completed before the
next begins. The activities include Problem definition, Requirement Analysis, Design,
Coding, Testing and maintenance.
An initial investigation culminates in a proposal that determines whether a system is feasible
or not. It determines its workability, impact on the organization, ability to meet user needs,
and effective user resources. The objective of feasibility study is not solve the problem but to
acquire a sense of its scope. During the study, the problem definition is crystallized and
aspects of the problem to be included in the system are determined. Consequently, cost and
benefits are estimated with greater accuracy at this stage. This is a bridge in between the User
Requirements and the output that he can avail under a set of given constraints, inputs and
outputs.
The main steps are :

. Statement of constraints
.Identification of specific system objectives.
.Description of outputs.
PLATFORM AND LANGUAGE USED

FRONT END:

The programming has been done using the language HTML PHP CSS JAVASCRIPT. It is
Sun Microsystems’s strategic language for platform independent programming. It is easy to
use, efficient and flexible. This language is preferred because one can build a program using
this object oriented and platform independent programming with less effort than with any
other programming language. It’s a natural language for building database applications,
owing to the level and sophistication of the tools included with the language.

BACK END:

XAMPP server is one of the leading database management systems available on the market
today. It is easy to use and administer, and it comes with tools and wizards that make it easy
to develop applications. The database itself has been redesigned to automatically perform
many tuning functions, leaving you free to focus on most important tasks.

PLATFORM USED:

The Accounts Automation System is targeted at Microsoft Windows platforms.

WINDOWS 10

Windows (Operating System)

a) Window derived from its name from the on-screen “WINDOWS” that it used to display
information’s.
b) Windows 10 is a multi-user operating system. It has been designed and developed by
Microsoft Co-operation.
c) When a computer is switch on for working, it needs the operating system because all the
activities of a system are supervised by the operating system.

The features of the operating system are:-

1. Provides an interactive environment.

2. Graphical user interfaces.

i. The Commands are displayed on the screen and we don’t have to remember all
commands.
ii. GUI makes it easy to work with disks and directories. It can display tree like
diagram of directories, directories sub-0 directories on hard disk.

3. Point and Click.

4. User friendly.

LANGUAGE USED – HTML:

HTML is a general website designing language. In this website also CSS JAVASCRIPT
PHP languages are used.

What is HTML?
HTML or Hyper-text Mark-up Language is a globally accepted programming language for
formatting web pages. In today's world, it is commonly used along with JavaScript and
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to give web pages the look and feel we desire. Through
HTML, the look and appearance of images, links, headings, text, page layout and just about
every element of a web page can be formatted. While there are other globally-recognized web
programming languages and tools like content management systems today, HTML continues
to be the predominant programming language for creating web pages. It is also the most
optimal for most small and growing businesses that do not really need advanced functionality
on their website. Below are some of the advantages of using HTML while creating your
website.
HTML is easy to use and understand
Almost anyone in the web development business would know HTML – be it a freelancer or a
large agency. If at any point in time you need to hire the services of a different web design
firm or professional for making changes or updates to your website, it would be relatively
easy to find cost-effective and affordable solution providers who can make the changes you
need to your website.

All browsers support HTML

Almost – if not all – browsers support HTML. Certainly more browsers support HTML than
any other web programming language. As a result, when you build a website using HTML, it
would show up on most browsers around the world, as long as the programmer takes care to
optimize the website for the most commonly used browsers. Optimizing an HTML based
website for browser compatibility is neither difficult nor complex.

HTML and XML syntax is very similar

Today, XML is increasingly being used for data storage. The similarity of syntax between
HTML and XML means that it is easier and seamless working between the two platforms.

HTML is free
A major advantage of HTML is that it is free. You do not need any software for HTML, no
plug-ins are needed and it means that you can save considerably on your website
development cost. Even with open source content management systems, all the plug-ins that
you may need are not always free.

Most development tools support HTML

Whether it is FrontPage, DreamWeaver or any other programming tool, there are more web
development tools that allow you to create HTML based websites, than any other web
programming language.
HTML is most search engine friendly
Of all the web programming languages, HTML is the most search engine friendly. Creating
SEO compliant websites using HTML is significantly easier than any other programming
language. HTML causes the least SEO complications and provides the greatest flexibility
when trying to build an SEO compliant website. As long as you have taken care to ensure
your HTML code is clean and validated, an HTML website is easiest to read and access for
search engine crawlers. This reduces crawling time and improves page load time, helping
your website perform better in search results.

In most cases, HTML is all you need

In spite of all the advantages of using HTML, the first step you need to do while
conceptualizing a website is to define what exactly your website should do. Are you looking
for a website that provides information about your business or are you looking for
ecommerce functionality? Is your website essentially going to contain marketing and
company information or will it be more news-like, where content is added every few hours or
days? Should your website mainly disseminate information to visitors or do you need your
visitors to interact?

The operative word in defining your website functionality is "need". It is easy to

conceptualize an extremely high-end website with a wish-list of features and functionality,
but is it essential for your small or growing business? In most cases, business websites do not
need advanced functionality that would justify the need for programming technologies or
content management systems, given the extra cost of development.

Aesthetically, an HTML website can look just as appealing as a website using the more
advanced technologies. It is easy to be swayed by the desire to be 'up with the times'.
However, getting yourself a well made HTML website may be a wiser and more progressive
decision for your business than getting a high-tech website.
CONCLUSION

Since this project has been designed exclusively as a project, certain complexities that do
faced by any real life manual problem like total no. of employee, address redundancy etc. are
considered in this project. But enhancement to the project can easily be made without
changing the current design and programming structure.
