At the beginning of each new year, everyone creates new goals for themselves that they
believe they will stick to all year. These resolutions can vary between many different topics;
however, the most common are always to lose weight, eat healthy, and better oneself through this
process. My topic over nutrition and working out for your body type was inspired by these new
year's resolutions. Many people believe that walking into a gym and working out for hours while
continuing to eat the same amount of carbohydrates and sugars is beneficial. In reality, that isn’t
the case. It has also been shown that different workouts will show progress quicker on different
body types. I mainly picked this topic in order to learn what foods are actually good for you, how
much food you should be intaking, and what workouts will be best for different body types.
Progress is another area that has inspired me to pick my research topic. Many people
begin their resolutions and stick to them for about a month but choose to give up after working
hard and seeing no progress. I would like to base my research off of how to speed up the process
of noticeable progress and find out the main reasons why progress takes so long in this topic. My
research will mainly be based on benefitting not only myself and my own knowledge but others
around me with different schedules and different body types as well. I enjoy this topic because I
am very into health and fitness and I cannot wait to research more and expand my knowledge.

I feel very positive about this topic because it is something that I feel can benefit so many
people and help myself and others to keep pushing ourselves for our wanted end result. I think
this topic can be very long and confusing due to the difference between body types, gender, and
health motivation. I believe this topic is very important especially in today’s american society
where processed foods, obesity, and big portions is very “popular”. I already know that this topic
will be extremely interesting to research and that there are many different methods to take when
I am hoping to learn about the different body types, different workouts for those body
types, all about nutrition and portion sizes, and the amount of time before progress begins to
shine. I will start by first researching nutritional benefits and the effects of a healthy diet even
before including the workouts. My two main questions are: What is the connection between body
type and workouts? And What is the connection between a healthy diet and exercise/progress?
