LIST OF CONTENTS

1. Present existing Block diagram for Biochemical treatment.

2. After two years Block diagram for Biochemical treatment.
3. Process description.
4. Time schedule chart.

Source of waste water ETP:

Total washing machine = 04 set

Capacity per machine = 180 L/hr (1 Machine), 240 L/hr (3 Machines)

Water required = 180 + 240 x 3 = 900 L/hr =900 x 10 = 9000 L/day (Operation 10 hrs/day)

We have quoted for the Wastewater treatment plant that will be capable of treating 1000 L/hr of
wastewater per day of 10 working hours.
But ETP capacity = 1000 L/hr so for 12 hrs operation 12000 L/day.

3R apply following system:

Step 01: 20% Wastewater Reduce of 1st phase: 1st year

20% water reduce i.e., 1800 liter/day.

Note: If all of our machine manually operation try to training operators properly then reduce
consumption.

Details mentioned below:

1. Washing Process:
Water will be reduced = 9,000 @ 20% = 1800 liter/day
Total Amount of waste water reduce 1800 liter/ day

Step 02: 80% Wastewater Recycling 2nd phase: 3rd Year

80% water reuse i.e., 7200 liter/day. We will install Multimedia filter, Active carbon filter, Softener
unit, Micron filtration with UV-sterilizer.

80% recycling purpose:

a. Water Calculation for Car washing:

Total no. of car = 3 nos.
Water required 150 liters per car.
Amount of water = 150 x 3 = 450 L/day

b. Water Calculation for Floor Washing:

Area of total floor = 24,000 sft
Water required 0.10 liter per sft
Amount of water = 24,000 x 0.10 = 2400 L/day
2
c. ETP Chemical Mixing Tank:
200 L/day

d. Water calculation for toilet flush:

Total man power =1150
Water required 20 liters per day
Amount of water = 1150 x 20 = 23, 000 L/day

Total 80% Recycling (a+b+c+d) = 7200 liter/day (Balance will come from supply water)

3. PROCESS DESCRIPTION OF ETP

BASIS OF PLANT DESIGN

We have designed the Waste Water treatment plant based on the following characteristics of the raw
wastewater:
1. PH : 10-11
2. Color : Colored
3. BOD : 275 ppm
4. COD : 755 ppm
5. DO : < 2.5 ppm
6. TSS : 660 ppm
7. TDS : 1995 ppm

We have presumed that the characteristics of the raw wastewater will be remaining constant through
out the year and any variation on the same will be reflected on the output of the plant.

TREATMENT SCHEME

Bio-Chemical treatment Section:

 It is required to separate the coarse & medium fine solids at the inlet of the plant for
avoiding the clogging in the machineries (Pumps, mixtures etc.). Bar screen will be
provided for the separation of solids. Cleaning of this screen will be done by manually.

 Raw wastewater will be collected in the underground Equalization tank for holding raw
wastewater equivalent to minimum 8 hours requirement of the treatment plant. This is
required for maintaining steady flow of wastewater into the treatment plant as well as
maintaining more or less uniform characteristics of the raw wastewater for treatment in the
Effluent treatment plant. Since production of wastewater will be erratic, the minimum
holding time of Eight (8) hours requirement of the plant is essential for proper operation of
the Effluent treatment plant.

 Raw wastewater will be drawn by means of raw wastewater transfer pump set for feeding
the primary clarifier tank & flow line include necessary chemicals for dosing. For
biological treatment this tank will be used for pH adjusting purpose.

 Present aeration tank capacity 17 hrs for biochemical treatment purpose. Here large
quantity of air supply by industrial tri loop roots blower. 15% of biological activated
sludge (Clarified sludge) is return to the aeration tank for maintaining the desired F/M
ration with desired MLSS.

 Then the effluent transfer to secondary clarifier for final separation purpose holding time
3.5 hrs. Finally, treated water is going to the outlet through sump 1.5 hours capacity.

 Sludge from secondary tank is passing to the pit by gravity force & send to sludge bed to
make the sludge as dry condition by sludge pump. Polyelectrolyte solution will be dosed
with the sludge for the purpose of removal of color and will also act as coagulant aid for

5
the propos of removal of suspended impurities expeditiously. Polyelectrolyte solution will
be dosed in the reaction chamber by means of Simplex type metering pump set.

 From Sludge bed dry sludge collected for damping 15/30 days then it will be manner for
gardening. And liquid effluent again sends to collection tank.

Sand Filter & Multimedia Filter:

 This range of sand filters which we offer is used for removing suspended solids and
turbidity. These filters have multiple layers of sand having different size and specific
gravity. This range of sand filters is available in both hand operated and fully automatic
options. These are also effective to remove suspended solids to less than 5ppm.

Active Carbon Filter:

 We are the leading manufacturer of activated carbon filters which is well established by the
technology for the reduction of excessive free chlorine. These filters have the same odor of
chlorine and have some organic matter resembling chlorine. With compact size, these are
sturdy, durable and are easy to operate.

Softener Unit:

 Water softeners are used to remove the hardness of water by reducing the salt like
magnesium and calcium present in the water. The hardness of water is effectively reduced
by exchanging the Sodium ions. The softening process is undertaken to soften the water up
to commercially zero ppm.

Micron Filter:

 A micron filter is device made of a sifting material and with the capacity to provide
retention of very minute substances. Micron filters are mainly used in printer cartridges to
aid in separating contaminants from the liquid filtration. Micron filter are also used to filter
air vents in printers and help scanners from getting spoilt quickly.

UV And Bacterial Disinfection:

 UV is used to provide bacterial disinfection in water. It does not change the physical or
chemical characteristics in water. UV provides disinfection on contact. It does not have any
residual properties left in the treated water. There are no known microorganism resistant to
UV.

 The liquid to be sterilized flows through the reactor chamber of the sterilizing unit in
which the ultraviolet lamps are located. These lamps are protected from direct contact with
the water by quartz glass tubes. The ultraviolet burners, which produce radiation in the 254
nm wavelengths, are installed inside the reactor chamber

parallel to the direction of flow. A power consumption of between 10 and 900 watts is
sufficient to disinfect 1 to 240 m 3/h. In this method water flow through the SS Chamber
and gets in contact with a submerged bank of germicidal lamps housed within quartz
sleeves.

UV Benefits & Limitations:

 UV Sterilization treatment takes place inside the UV exposure housing. Exposure time
between the waterborne microorganism and the UV-C light is critical in achieving
successful UV disinfection. The condition of the applications water will determine how
6
well the UV-C light penetrates through it (UV transmittance). UV-C is absorbed by the
targeted microorganism or by other organic waterborne particles. It is for this reason that
UV equipment should be positioned after the mechanical filter.

TREATED WATER QUALITY (after Bio-chemical treatment.)

Subject to the plant being run according to our instruction and there is no variation in the design
analysis of the raw wastewater, and subject to the use of proper quality of chemicals during operation
of the plant, the treaded waste water, to be obtainable from the plant, will have the following
guaranteed characteristics:
1. pH value : 6-9
2. BOD : Not more than 30 ppm
3. COD : Less than 100 ppm
4. DO : 4.5-8.0 ppm
5. TSS : Not more than 30 ppm
6. TDS : Less than 2100 ppm
