The teachers will complete Answer Garden questions about the flipped video they watched
prior to the class on creating infographics with Canva as an informal, formative assessment.

At the end of the period, the infographic they create during this lesson will be evaluated and
graded using a rubric to serve as a formal, summative assessment.

Introduction/Engagement:
Teachers will first need to respond to a few questions on ​Answer Garden​ related to the flipped
video they will have viewed prior to attending the class. This will check for understanding and
ensure that everyone watched the video. The teacher will be able to answer any questions
they may have had an in real time demonstrate any of the features that teachers might want
to see more of.

Lesson: (Teacher Input, Guided, Independent Activities etc)


1. Teachers will then be given an assignment to use Canva (or another infographic
creation tool) to create one infographic related to a topic they will be teaching in the
coming weeks.
2. Teachers will have the entire lesson to work on this while the teacher circulates and
answers any specific questions they may have.
3. Teachers will be informed that this will be graded by a rubric that will be handed out
and will need to include a few key components including: clean visuals, accurate
information and quality writing mechanics.
4. Teachers will submit their infographic via Google Classroom at the end of the lesson

Modifications: Enrichment: ​An EDPuzzle video will also be


available of the other infographic creation
tools in case a teacher would like to learn
how to use them as well.
