order to make a comparison in the readers' minds.

1. Myth of Sisyphus: The name of this work is misleading
a. It’s not the myth itself, but Camus is using the myth to illustrate his perspective
b. Sisyphus is an allusion
2. Why do we use allusions?
a. Make our point easier to understand

3. To determine why authors use allusions, we must make a claim about what they are saying
4. To make a claim about a text, we need textual evidence
