I understand that this exam is important to develop your English language communication skills
and attain your goal which is for _________ (learning goal).

As your teacher, I will do my best to help you to improve your score and reach your goal. I also
would like you to discipline yourself and to work hard.

VIII. Setting of Expectation:

Today we are going to have an IELTS mock test and I’d like you to feel that this is an actual
exam.

for the next 10 to 15 minutes I will not be your teacher but I will play the role of an IELTS
examiner. I will not help, correct nor guide you. I will just ask questions and you have to
remember by giving answers and reasons behind each parts. Also once we start the simulation.
I will turn off the camera so you can focus on your answers. Once we’re done. I will turn it back
on and I will give you my feedback corrections and suggestions.

2. Call Simulation (12 minutes)

 Intro: Welcome to the speaking section of the IELTS speaking exam. My Name is Evelyn,
and I’ll be your examiner. The test is going to take about 11-14 minutes. There will be
three parts. I will give you instructions for each part. I’m going to record this for marking
purposes, is that okay?

I’ll be asking a few questions. Can we start with your full name please?
