INTRAMURALS 2018

BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

I. DATES:
The Basketball tournament will take place on the following dates:
• November 23, 2018: elimination
• Monday, November 26, 2018: Semi-finals
• Wednesday, November 28, 2018: Finals

II. TEAMS
There will be four teams
• Air Nomads (AN)
• Water Knights (WK)
• Fire Lords (FL)
• Earth Warriors (EW)

The general rules are based on BAP rulebook:

IV. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARTICIPANTS

 Teams will have an unlimited bench but should submit the names of the players on
or before November 20, 2018.
 It is the participants’ responsibility to stay informed of the time, date and location of
their matches, as well as the duty as refereeing team.
 At least 5 players must be present to play a match. After 10 minutes, if the team is
not able to field in 5 players, the team is declared default.
 No varsity students are allowed to play in the tournament. Official list of the varsity
is available from the School’s Sports Director for verification.
 Players must not borrow jerseys for proper identification and recording.
 Players must wear an undershirt according to their team color for identification of
the officials and referees.
o Water - Blue
o Air - White
o Fire - Red
o Earth - Black
 A courteous attitude and good sportsmanship are expected of all and at all times.
V. MATCH FORMAT
o Elimination Round:
 Single Round
 Ranking will be determined by:
 Win-Loss Card
 In Case of Identical Win-Loss Card, the Asian Quotient System will
be applied.
 4 Quarters; 8 Minutes for Quarter; 1 20-second timeout per quarter
except for the 4th quarter where 2 20-second timeouts will be given per
team; stopwatch.
 In case of overtime, a 5 minute extension will be played; running time
with 1 20-second timeout.

o Semi-Final Round
 Cross-Over Knockout system.
 Ranked 2 team vs Ranked 3 team
 Ranked 1 team vs Ranked 4 team
 Winners will go to the Finals while losers will vie for third place.
 4 Quarters; 8 Minutes for Quarter; 1 20-second timeout per quarter
except for the 4th quarter where 2 20-second timeouts will be given per
team; stopwatch.
 In case of overtime, a 5 minute extension will be played; running time
with 1 20-second timeout.

IMPORTANT:

 After the end of the elimination round, the team with a 3-0 win loss card
will automatically wait for an opponent in the Final Round. Teams ranked
2 and 3 respectively will vie for the 2nd final slot. Loser of this match will
be fighting for 3rd with the 4th ranked team.

o Final Round
 4 Quarters; 10-minutes per quarter; 2 20-second timeouts per quarter;
stopwatch.
 In case of overtime, a 5 minute extension will be played; stopwatch with
2 20-second timeouts.

All games will be played at the Jose Maria’s Sky Gym. The following will be the schedules of
