Preface

Good decisional research project result in helping to make the best decisions that
can be made at the least cost of making it.

Finance is a subject for all people and all seasons. It is a subject of exchanging and
managing funds, how transactions are initiated, motivated, facilitated and
consummated. Financial Management deals with how organizations and people
can better manage their fund exchange activities to produce income for themselves
and satisfaction for others. Finance is a field that deals with the study of
investments. It includes the dynamics of assets and liabilities, (known as elements
of the balance statement) over time under conditions of different degrees of
uncertainties and risk. Finance can also be defined as the science of money
management.

Today, in the period of down swing of the economy, I have decided to work on
fashion industry as it effects directly to economic growth of a nation. The impact
of decisions can be seen clearly in the fashion industry so going through detailed
study of the fashion industry.

I have tried to make this report readable by suggesting techniques to overcome this
depress.

COMPANY PROFILE

Overview of Bridal Industry in India 

Menswear will outperform the women’s clothing sector across the world by 2020,
according to research by Euromonitor International.

With a contribution of approximately Rs.120 million to the Indian clothing and

accessories market by the end of the next two years, menswear is growing quicker
than women’s wear — predicted to develop 2.3% globally by 2020 compared to
the 2.2% growth rate for female clothing.

When we reach the year 2020, menswear is expected to hit a value of Rs.130
million in India, while the women’s wear market is predicted to drop nationwide
by 0.2% within the next 24 months. But what’s brought on this trend for menswear
and what could this mean for male fashion of the future?

Why is the menswear sector expected to grow?

There are several reasons behind the progression in the menswear market. Firstly,
could it be that men are simply becoming more style-orientated? In reference to a
particularly popular piece of male fashion denim clothing and footwear analyst at
Euromonitor International, Bernadette Kissane, said: “When it comes to bridal
accessories , men in the India traditionally bought into unique and different
fashion, but the strong growth of economy bridal accessories sees men also being
influenced by fast changing trends and the desire for a variety of style-led value
accessories.”

Statistics appear to back up this idea. Apparently, almost 60% of men agreed that
they felt ‘more attractive’ when they were well-groomed, while approximately
21% said that they think a good role model should ‘look after his appearance’,
according to a menswear India 2017 report by Mintel, a market intelligence
agency.

15
Similarly, the growth in the menswear market has been encouraged by the
industry’s quick response to changing trends. Senior fashion analyst at Mintel,
Tamara Sender, said: “More retailers and brands have been tapping into the
growing menswear market by expanding their men’s clothing offer, as well as
launching stores and separate websites dedicated to men’s fashion. As more
retailers are entering the menswear market, men are faced with greater choice of
products, styles and sizing.”

Or is this simply a generational thing? According to a UK Menswear 2016

whitepaper by Pragma, ‘millennial’ males — generally agreed to be those born
between the early 1980s and mid-1990s — spend more on clothing each year than
other men.

Perhaps a combination of age, technology and fashion-consciousness is the cause

of the rapid growth in the menswear market. But what does this mean for the
clothing of tomorrow and beyond?

26
Internship Profile

Introduction

My internship tenure in Pagri World was of 4 weeks. I got the wonderful

opportunity to handle transactions and banking services. Through this department,
I was able to the very essential banking knowledge as I want to see myself as a
banker in future. I primarily learned cash management, fund transfer etc. I was able
to deal with customers and disseminate the information to them. I also learned
about the credit related task. I was able to gain knowledge about all other banking
task.

Account opening is the first and most important thing for a company. It is
necessary to know for every employee who worked in the company. There is an in-
charge who called General Banking in-charge, under her there is three junior
officers and one is officer. In my whole internship period I have learned lots of
things about the bank operations like how they work, how they synchronize with
each other. Cash section and the clearing section are also related with the
GENERAL BANKING. Those operations are monitored by GENERAL
BANKING in-charge.

Banking  In simple words, Banking can be defined as the business activity of

Accepting and safeguarding money owned by other individuals and entities, and
then lending out this money in order to earn a profit. However, with the passage
of time, the activities covered by banking business have widened and now various
other services are also offered by banks. The banking services these days include
issuance of debit and credit cards, providing safe custody of valuable items,
lockers, ATM services and online transfer of funds across the country / world.

27
It is well said that banking plays a silent, yet crucial part in our day-to-day lives.
The banks perform financial intermediation by pooling savings and channelizing
them into investments through maturity and risk transformations, thereby keeping
the economy’s growth engine revving.

Banking business has done wonders for the world economy. The simple looking
method of accepting money deposits from savers and then lending the same money
to borrowers, banking activity encourages the flow of money to productive use and
investments. This in turn allows the economy to grow. In the absence of banking
business, savings would sit idle in our homes, the entrepreneurs would not be in a
position to raise the money, ordinary people dreaming for a new car or house
would not be able to purchase cars or houses.

Trust is the most important element for a bank to survive. People keep money in a
bank only when they trust that it will be given back to them as and when they
demand the same on at least on the date of maturity in case the same has been
given in the shape of fixed deposits. Of course, there are other reasons also for
which people prefer to keep money in a bank rather than keep at home in their own
safe. They can earn some extra money when the money is kept in saving or fixed
deposits. Moreover, they can make payment by issuance of cheques and need not
carry money for their day to day needs.

Internet Banking Online banking, also known as internet banking, is

an electronic payment system that enables customers of a bank or other financial
institution to conduct a range of financial transactions through the financial
institution's website. The online banking system will typically connect to or be part
of the core banking system operated by a bank and is in contrast to branch
banking which was the traditional way customers accessed banking services.
Today, "virtual banks" (or “direct banks”) have only an internet presence, which
enables them to lower costs than traditional brick-and-mortar banks.

28
Activities Performed in the Organization
During 4 weeks of my internship tenure, I was deployed in the department of
banking functions. It is the most important and essential department for each and
every company as it helps in managing the funds most effectively. As the office
and bank are nearby, I got the opportunity to watch the coordination between the
bank and the company. The activities I performed within 4 weeks were based on
my acquired knowledge. It allow me to relate my studies in the practical working
environment.

30
This is how internet banking system of our company works:

31
Steps of Internet Banking

Step 1 In the first step, customer sent a request in order to buy

Products in against of payment. Request is sent to check
the authenticity of the merchant, product info, payment
info.
Step 2 In the second step, merchant checks the authenticity of
buyer, and has a right to authorize or deny of payments.
Step 3 After clarification from both side. Parties meet on third
party server which consist gateway of all modes of
transactions like Visa, MasterCard, debit card, online
banking , PayPal etc.

After the confirmation of payment third party servers sends money form
the account of buyer to the account of seller.

 Note: - All the above mentioned procedure is encoded in special

commands. There is no physical evidence of transactions. All these
commands are sent by the servers after getting conformation from
both the parties.

32
Major Activities
I was very thankful that i got opportunity to work in banking department. In
banking department there is lots of paper work involved. It has a very well
managed system to record the documents in a specific procedure. Documents were
recorded in printed as well as in digital format.

 Customer Handling This department is the first place where potential

customer approaches. It is the primary duty and responsibility of the company
to provide the information of internet banking and extra charges. As the first
thing I learned are different types of internet banking. I provide the necessary
information of the service and I often provide the essential suggestion as per my
capacity to the customer.

 Bank Visit For any kind of banking transactions, it is very important to

4

visit bank. It is the best way to resolve banking problems. I was provided the
opportunity to visit the by my supervisors. I learnt what things look for,
genuinity of the customer, feasible analysis. I also assisted my supervisor to
prepare bank visit report.

 Document uploading on bank server Company keeps their document

both in printed and digital format. There are procedures to upload the
documents into the bank server. I was very thankful to use such technology in
organizational work structure.

 Tally Software  However, I was not fully authorized to operate it. I learnt
to use the tally software, the latest of its kind. Generally, I have to use it for
balance enquiry.

 Problem Solved  Working in Pagri world, I exposed to real life

experiences as professional. As an intern, I was given responsibility with
expectations of better performance. I learnt many things as I tackled with the
task I undertook. During my internship tenure, I performed my best and solved
problem such as:

33
 Provide necessary information to customer when confused.
 Managed the paperwork load of the department.
 Help relationship and branch manager to correct communication error.
 Report the complaints or messages of customer to the concerned
authority.
 Assisted relationship manager to clarify the related issues.
 Provide the knowledge I acquired from college to company in order to
increase efficiency. For ex- use of Google drive to save documents.
 Assisted filling up the different forms especially to those who could not
read or write.
 Give feedback to supervisors.

Key Observations
There were numerous things I observed as an intern while working at Pagri World
which I otherwise would not have known. As I select company for intern the most
things I observe are the functions of banking which are as follow:

 Intern must be assigned with the responsibility as per the potentialities.

 The coordination between staff are smooth.
 Theoretical knowledge is important as it is the base of every work.
 Manager regularly inspects the staff, listen their problems, supervises etc.
 Employees are friendly.
 The technology is old which slows down the process.
 Every employee was given certain duties for which they could be held
accountable.
 Flexible work hours so that the office is not empty.
 Failure in effective communication makes customer angry.
 Celebration of birthday parties and farewell.
 On the job training and job rotation are more focused.

34
Key Skills and Lesson Learnt

An internship is an opportunity offered by employees, both in the non-profit

and for-profit sectors, to students interested in the industry. An intern works in a
company for a limited period of time usually three to six months. At Pagri
world, my internship tenure of 4 weeks provides me the wonderful opportunity
to know about the professional banking services. I knew what is to work in
organizational work setting.

 Reality of professional organizational setting.

 Importance of punctuality and completion of task.
 Responsibilities
 Importance of team work that helps to solve problems.
 Deal with customer in polite and friendly way.
 About banking services and cooperate work culture.
 Laws and directive of regulatory body.

Balance Scorecard The balanced scorecard is a strategy performance

management tool – a semi-standard structured report, that can be used by managers
to keep track of the execution of activities by the staff within their control and to
monitor the consequences arising from these actions.

The actual change has started when the government’s decision allow the
globalisation. Pagri World is a growing groom accessories industry in Delhi. Their
products services are the key elements for Pagri World. Customer service is the
core ingredients in this sector. Company offers different types of product and
services to their clients. PAGRI WORLD is known for its best customer service

which help to grab position in the market. The primary purpose of this report is to

of PAGRI WORLD in the industry procedures, policies with emphasize on foreign
trade. While working in PAGRI WORLD, it is possible to observe their activities
closely and gather knowledge of financial activities and experience about their

Rationality
Internship program is the practical phase of our theoretical learning. It makes a
bridge between the classroom learning and the practical learning. Internship plays
an essential role for BBA professional degree. The study will help to originate
suitable policies taking into reflection different ideas, suggestions and feelings of
the customers and the bankers.

43
Origin of Report
This report is a requirement of the internship program which is an important part of
the BBA degree requirement. As the supervisor has advised me to develop a
thorough understanding of the financial activities and internet banking services,
this report will be prepared on those aspects of the practice of Pagri World.

Objective of Report

Broad objective,

 To know about the overview of Pagri World

 To know the financial activities of Pagri World

 To know about the customer service

 To recommend some solution

Methodology

The methodology of this report is very different from conventional reports. I have
emphasized on the practical observation. The necessary information is collected
from face to face interviews. All information is collected from primary and
secondary data. Nevertheless, eventually almost the entire report consists of my
practical experience.

44
Sources of Data

While preparing the report, I have taken information from the following sources:

Primary Sources:
 Observation of banking activities.
 Overflowing Conversation with the manager and employees.
 Working with my own experience while internship program.

Secondary Sources:
 Website of Pagri World.
 Annual Report of the Pagri World.
 Consultations of related books and publications.
 Internal Financial Statement.

Collection Procedures of Data

Primary interview technique was the primary tool used in collection information.
Interview with the managers and officers have done through questionnaire in order
to discuss about the related matters before preparing the report. Discuss with the
different division is the main source of collecting data.

45
Data Collection Methods

The data is collected from different sources like:

 Observation
 Direct conversation with the client
 Face to face conversation with employees
 Annual Report
 Different Publications of Pagri World
 Internet

Scope of the report

This sector is a large and difficult area. A company has different products,
different services and different customers. Different departments of a
company perform different activities. However, the scope of present study
was limited in a specific area and the activities of Pagri World. This study
covers various section of Prime Bank Limited. This report is basically
divided into two parts:
 Organization part
 Project part
The organization part contains the organization’s structure and policies.
The project part is focused on the financial activities of company. It also
includes some ration analysis and comparison with other banks.

46
Limitations of Report

Some of the limitations faced in preparing this report are:

 It was very difficult to collect the information from various personnel
for their job constraint.
 There were some difficulties in understanding some activities.
 Due to confidentiality the company’s policy restricts disclosing some
data.
 The study of such a short course of time is not free from limitation. So
time limitation is the main point of limitation.
 During the month of June in the company, there was excessive year-
ending workload, which sometimes acts as a barrier on the way of my
effort.
 At the beginning of internship it was tough for me to understand the
environment of work.
 Working in a practical environment is different from academic
knowledge.
 Employers are too busy with their desk work so they have less time to
make me understand the desk job.
 Company has to maintain lot of secrecy so as an intern I was not
allowed to know all stuff and information
 Learning all the banking functions of company within just one months
was really tough.
It is too much difficult to comment and suggest based on only the annual
report and information collected from written documents.

Conclusion

During my internship I learn different when 1st day I went in Pagri World office
everything was different, everyone was energetic my Reporting manager have
taught, he explain about the company and our work, what we will do in next 4
weeks. During my internship I have lot thing about the banking and banking
services. According to my financial research these are the conclusions.

Many countries in Asia are taking advantage of E-commerce through opening of

economy which is essential for promoting competition and diffusion of internet
technologies. The internet boosting efficiency and enhancing market integration in
developing countries. According to survey in India E-commerce will become
largest sector that will provide job. E-Commerce in the next 3to 5 year ,India will
have 40 to 80 million internet users which will equal ,if not surpass, many of the
developed countries. Internet economy will then become more meaningful in India.
The number of transactions will be enough to sustain the internet economy.

India has around 470 million banking customers. Among this demographic, 60
million of them, amounting to 13% of the total users, use online banking.

With the financial technology companies, e-commerce names, big data firms and
cloud based software’s and service, the digital element is truly revolutionizing
things, quite quickly and effectively. And it becomes more relevant to make a
moment to contemplate where the banking sector figures in the midst of all these
changes.

Suggestion and Findings

As the organization is categorized in class a company and is running smoothly

some points I would like to state as suggestion are as follows:

 It has been able to launch products according to the time. More flexibility is
to be brought up. This will help the customer to utilize the product to the
fullest.
 It must consider the latest media of advertisement. Use of social networking
sites such as Facebook, instagram, twitter etc. must be boosted. Customer’s
query must be replied instantly on Facebook pages.
 Pagri World ought to focus on the advertising and out to make a
symphonious association with the clients. Media is a essential weapon for a
wide range of publicizing and organization ought to keep a nearby tie with
the business.
 The staff whose job role requires frequent contacts with the customer should
be trained to deal in a polite manner.
 The willingness to work should be developed among the employees through
effective incentive plans.
 The technologies should be updated as the existing technology is slowing the
process.
 Merchant who have own manufacturing company they are interested in
online banking.
 Around 20% want to come with E-commerce but they don’t have knowledge
about computer.
