Dear family members:
The 2019 Sims family reunion planning committee is very pleased to announce the details of
our 2019 reunion! We have noticed that our family has grown in size and so this is our attempt
to get everyone together, share our history, and create new memories.
We are the descendants of the Sims’s from Noxubee County Mississippi dating back to 1880.

The 2019 Sims Family Reunion will be held in Alexandria, Virginia at the Embassy Suites by
Hilton Alexandria Old Town. Alexandria is just miles away from Washington, DC and has much
to offer. Our headquarters will be the Embassy Suites Hotel. This Embassy Suites Hotel is just
steps away from a variety of fine retailers and restaurants. Walk across the street to the Metro
subway station for easy access to top DC attractions such as Arlington National Cemetery,
Washington Monument, White House, National Zoo, and Smithsonian museums. Our Virginia
hotel near the DC Metro also provides convenient access to the Washington DC Convention
Center, Capitol One Center, Nationals Park and other sports venues.

We are honored to plan and host our family reunion and hope this will be an annual event. We
have worked hard to put together a weekend of activities and entertainment that all will enjoy.
The Family Reunion Registration will include the following: Family Meet and Greet Reception,
Family Banquet and Family Picnic. Anyone with a connection to the Sims’s is invited; including
good friends and neighbors!

Instructions When Making Room Reservations:

Call 1-800-445-8667 to make your hotel reservation and the group code that is assigned
for our family’s room block is SMF. Please ask for the Sims Family Reunion Group Rate.
This may also be used through the hotel’s website,
www.alexandriaoldtown.embassysuites.com, in the Group Code box when you input the
dates.
Cut-off Date: Reservations received after Jun 2, 2019 will be provided on a space-
available basis at prevailing rates. The Hotel is completely sold out the weekend of our
Reunion so don’t wait until the last minute!

Option #2 – Mega Bus and Amtrak does go into Washington DC
Option #3 – Use your own car – Parking at the hotel is $30 per day plus fees to park. There are other
parking lots a block away that are cheaper $10- $25/day.
Option # 4 - Other options will be posted as they come up.

*A receipt will be mailed back to you after every payment.

*A minimum payment of half of your party’s registration fee is due April 19, 2019.
*Example two adults and two children is $150.00

* In order to meet mandatory prepaid expenses that require reservations and deposits to secure
facilities, we are requesting that you complete your registration and be paid in full by June 14,
2019 for your registration to be valid.

*No portion of your registration fees will be refundable for we have already signed a binding contract.
