Glossary

Add Record- if you keep a record of something, you keep a written account or

photographs of it so that it can be referred to later.

Attendance – the number of people present at a particular event, function, or

meeting.

Clear – easy to perceive, understand, or to interpret.

Control- the power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events.

Database- a structured set of data held in a computer, especially one that is

accessible in various ways.

Delete- remove or obliterate (written or printed matter), especially by drawing a

line through it or marking it with a delete sign.

Input- what is put in, taken in, or operated on by any process or system.

Log In- In computer security, logging in is a process by which an individual gains

access to a computer system by Identifying and authenticating themselves.

Log Out- means to end a computer system or a website.

Monitoring - observe and check the progress or quality of (something) over a

period of time; keep under systematic review.

MySQL – is an Oracle-backed open source relational database management

system (RDBMS) based on Structured Query Language (SQL).

NetBeans- is a java based integrated development environment (IDE). The term

also refers to the IDE’s underlying application platform framework. Although the

NetBeans IDE is designed specifically for java developers, it also supports C/C++,

PHP, Groovy, and HTML5 in addition to java, JavaScript and JavaFX.

Process- a series of action or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.

SMS- (Short Message Service) commonly referred to as a “text messaging” is a

service for sending short messages of up to 160 characters (224 character is using

5bit mode) to mobile devices, including cellular phones, smartphones and PDAs.

SQLite- is an process library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-

configuration, transactional SQL database engine. The code for SQLite is in the

public domain and is thus free for use for any purpose, commercial or private.

Student- a person who is studying at a school or college.

Output- the amount of something produced by a person, machine, or industry.

Update- make(something) more modern or up to date.

User- a person who uses or operate something, especially a computer or other

machine.
