e The main objective of this assignment is used to warm students up
d to the idea of making change and using money. This assignment will
a help the students visualize and virtually handle real life like
g transactions. Steps include:
o 1) Teacher introduces the concept of “making change”
g 2) Students will be able to use this interactive smartboard
y lesson to drag the proper amount of dollar bills and coins
needed for the problem posed.
3) Students will be called on individually to first answer the
question of “how much money is left after the transaction?”
4) Once the student answers the question they go up to the
board and try to drag the correct amount of change to the
middle of the page
5) If the student can not accomplish the answer by himself
then he may call upon a partner to assist
 6) volunteers at the board may use either the pen or their
finger to drag and click on the various coins and dollar bills
7) Each student or pair will be asked to answer one of the
many real life scenarios such as: “you have $5.00 to buy the
toy, how much money would you receive back in change?”
when the item is listed at $1.27
8) Students will place their final answer and the other students
will help grade the work on the board and go over the
missed questions/ mistakes as a class
