¿Qué piensas de la educación a distancia?

La educación a distancia es una modalidad que ha permitido disminuir la brecha

del acceso a una educación superior de calidad. Además propicia el aprendizaje
autónomo, la comunicación e interacción y el uso de herramientas tecnológicas para
mediar los aprendizajes. Por otra parte en esa diversidad cultural de la población se
encuentran aquellos que por diferentes razones se le dificulta la educación presencial y
han encontrado arraigo en la educación a distancia.
Más aun, existen algunas situaciones que ponen de manifiesto el aumento de
estudiantes en educación a distancia. Algunas de ellas por que los costos de las
matriculas en educación presencial son muy elevados, también la ubicación geográfica
de las universidades y de los estudiantes juega un papel muy importante, y de igual
modo la vinculación laboral de muchos, no les permite utilizar la modalidad de
educación presencial.
En cuanto a que los costos de matrículas de la educación presencial son más
elevados que los de educación a distancia. Esto ha permitido incrementar el número de
estudiantes en esta última modalidad. Además Muchos no cuentan con los recursos
económicos que les permita pagar el monto de la matrícula, tomar el transporte ida y
vuelta de la casa hasta la universidad durante cinco días en la semana y menos
alimentarse en ese mismo periodo de tiempo.
Con respecto a la ubicación geográfica de algunas universidades y por supuesto
de muchos estudiantes, encontramos que se dificulta el desplazamiento diario de los
educandos hacia el alma mater. Es así que se ha evidenciado que gran porcentaje de
estudiantes habitan en municipios aledaños o en otros departamentos. Por ende esta
situación o evento hace más costosa la carrera universitaria.
Hay que mencionar, además que, la vinculación laboral de muchos estudiantes
es un factor decisivo a la hora de tomar la decisión de elegir entre educación presencial
o educación a distancia. Es por ello que muchas de las personas que trabajan y optan
por un título universitario, eligen la modalidad a distancia. Ya sea por conservar su
trabajo o porque no les queda más remedio que atender a su familia.

plays a very important role, and in the same way the employment relationship of many,
does not allow them to use the modality of face-to-face education.

distance education. This has allowed to increase the number of students in this last
modality. In addition, many do not have the economic resources that allow them to pay
the tuition, take the round trip from home to the university for five days in the week
and less to feed in the same period of time.
With respect to the geographical location of some universities and of course of
many students, we find that the daily displacement of the students towards the alma
mater is difficult. Thus, it has been shown that a large percentage of students live in
neighboring municipalities or in other departments. Therefore, this situation or event
makes the university career more expensive.
It should be mentioned, in addition, that the employment relationship of many
students is a decisive factor when making the decision to choose between face-to-face
education or distance education. That is why many of the people who work and opt for
a university degree, choose the distance mode. Either by keeping their job or because
they have no choice but to look after their family.
