Miscue Analysis of WRC
Total Accuracy: 98 % Total Acceptability: 99%
Fluency Rate: 131 wpm Comp Score (without LB): 83%
Observations: The student didn’t selfcorrect any of her miscues. All of which were not semantically acceptable which
played a role on her comprehension of the passage. She also has a very high fluency rate which is apparently affecting her
comprehension not just in this passage but others as well.

Observations: The student has a tendency to skip whole lines or short phrases of lines which really affect her comprehension.
This could be because she reads very quickly and pays little attention to see if what she is reading makes sense. Here in the
total of all 14 miscues, she only selfcorrected once.
PASSAGE LEVEL: 3rd PASSAGE TITLE: A Special Birthday for Rosa PASSAGE TYPE: Narrative
Total Accuracy: 95% Total Acceptability: 98%
Fluency Rate: 124wpm Comp Score (without LB): 88%
Observations: Most of her miscues here are a result of skipping lines of the passage that she was assessed on. She again
didn’t go back or selfcorrect when it didn’t make sense. Few of her miscues were semantically acceptable and 8 out of the
15 were function words. Her rate is still high which makes me believe that she is reading so quickly in a way that drastically
affects her comprehension.
PASSAGE LEVEL: 3rd PASSAGE TITLE: Cats: Lions and Tigers in Your House PASSAGE TYPE:
Expository
Total Accuracy: 95% Total Acceptability: 98%
Fluency Rate: 121 wpm Comp Score (without LB): 88%
Observations: She has fewer miscues here and most of the ones that she made are very grammatically similar and for the
most part are semantically acceptable. Despite her WRC score, her comprehension here was really low.
