What did the students seem to understand based on the responses on the post unit

assessment? What do your students still need to understand?


 The majority of students understood the standards of SOC.5-8.CE.9.d 4, SOC.5-8.CE.6.a
3, SOC.5-8.CE.6.b 3, SOC.5-8.CE.9.a 5, SOC.5-8.CE.9.b 3 and SOC.5-8.CE.9.c 6.
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.9.c 6 turned into a 80.6%
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.9.d 4 turned into a 70.6%
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.6.a 3 turned into a 83%
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.6.b 3 turned into a 73.4%
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.9.b 3 turned into a 81.3%
 The average scores for SOC.5-8.CE.9.a 5 turned into a 75.8%

What changes would you make to your unit/instruction given your analysis of the student’s
work?
 Many of the students who received the lowest scores are from the same class, they are an
inclusion class with the majority of students not studying.
 In the future units my teacher and I plan to do more direct instruction activities and
lessons with this class to see if this improves their scores.
 This repetitive nature of constant direction instruction for the class, along with additional
activities will help them to better understand the material.
