unnecessary details and focus on what information will strengthen your argument. I believe that
is what I tried to do. There were many articles and papers on education in Michigan — I tried to
find numbers that would complement what I was arguing, not just create a distraction, or be there
for the sake of it. It worked best when I was more broad with my research. Searching up specific
details does not usually work. However, when I researched on more general stuff, I got way
more information.
I love citing sources, honestly — it makes my work feel professional and worthy. I do not
think it was a struggle for me. However, in-text citations can get a little tricky sometimes
depending on whether you are citing a book or a website. That is why I prefer APA over MLA.
APA in text citations ask for the author and the year. I feel like that is more informative than
page numbers because the year helps you see how recent the article is. Therefore, it can put the
data and statistics into perspective. MLA asks for page numbers, and that is usually not available
As much as I love meeting new people, I am a little “iffy” about group work. However, I
did have a good time working with my group — it definitely brought us closer. Now I know for
sure that I have at least two friends in this class. I think working with a group for this project
changed my perspective on a lot. I did not think I would get so much done. I am used doing
everything and I honestly never mind it. However, I realized it is so much easier to divide and
conquer! I always like doing everything by myself, but this project taught me trust the instincts
of others in my team and to compromise. Therefore, I am glad I did this project with a group. I
definitely got more done with them then I would have by myself.
Any project that deals with another community of people involves a lot of sensitivity.
Therefore, everytime we came with up a proposal, we wanted to make sure that we were treating
the topic with care, even if it was just theoretical. Also Luke and I are not from America,
therefore, there were a lot of things we needed to research on about Michigan and America as a
country that would be completely different back home. For example, I feel like I would be able
to come up with some really great nonprofit ideas on spot if it were to be placed in Bangladesh
because I know about the issues inside out. However, we barely had any idea about the situation
in Michigan and its crises. We had to solve this problem by doing a lot of research, having
Brianna on our team also helped because she is from Michigan and she had some idea of what
we could focus on. Aside from that, making the video was also a little difficult. Well, it was
more time consuming than difficult. However, I did enjoy making it and I thought it made our
I am proud of our video, brochure, and almost every visual aspect of our project. I
thought everything was pretty impressive. However, more than anything, I am proud of my team.
We were all very stressed about this project, and met up almost every weekend. We wanted our
project to stand out and wanted to go above and beyond. The first day we met, I remember
saying “guys, let’s give everything for this project.” We agreed on giving our very best, and I am
proud to say everyone did. Our classmates gave us pretty good feedbacks about our project. They
asked us very specific questions about the execution plan that helped us make necessary changes.
I do not have any other comments or concerns — I just believe it is important to remind
the students to enjoy this project instead of stressing about it. I know I really enjoyed, but I was a
