In case you would like to quickly create your own accounts, choose “Register” and fill the form,
and use the following verification code: testcode
Press “Play” in the upper menu to enter the Duel Mode.

In order to quickly play against the computer, you may choose the “Practice” Mode in the upper
menu. To start playing, simply press "Find Match".
Mulligan: When starting a Match, there is a Mulligan phase in which you may choose to redraw
any of your 4 initial cards. It’s recommended to redraw high level cards (level 3 and above). An
arrow icon will appear on top of the cards that are selected to be replaced.
Deck: Players start the match with a 30 cards deck, which is located at the bottom-left corner of
the screen.

Hand: Your hand of cards is located at the bottom and center of the screen.

Players draw their first hand of 4 cards from their 30-cards deck.

At the start of your next turn, you’ll draw cards until you have 4 in your hand. You will always draw
at least 1 card at the start of your turn. You may not have more than 10 cards in your hand. If you
must draw a card, but your hand is full, the card is discarded.

Eventually, if players are unable to draw cards because they ran out of cards on their decks, they
will be damaged by 5 for each card they were unable to draw.
Types of cards: There are 2 types of Cards in Causa: Characters and Plots. You can tell them apart
by the information and shape of the cards.

Characters have two attributes: Attack and Resistance. They many subtypes, but all are played in
the Scene and may be used to attack or defend your leader.

Plots have 2 subtypes: Events and Conditions. Events are instant effects, while Conditions are
played to the Shelter and their effects may be activated later. You may have up to 4 Characters in
the Scene and up to 4 Conditions in the Shelter.

Level requirement: Every card has a level requirement on its top left corner. To be able to play a
card, your Cause must be equal or greater than its level requirement.
Dedicate cards: To increase your Cause, once per turn you may choose to Dedicate any card and
move it to your cause. The type or level of the dedicated card doesn’t affect the Cause gained:
every card you dedicate increases your Cause by 1.

In order to Dedicate a card to your Cause, you may drag any card from your game or your hand to
your Cause Pile.

You may dedicate a card only once per turn, but you can do so at any moment (in any order). For
instance, you may use a character to attack your opponent, and then dedicate it.
Comeback: Whoever started second will begin the game with the Amulet card. The Amulet is a
Condition that has 2 charges, and may be activated to gain 1 Cause for the turn. This allows you to
play a higher level card earlier than normal.
When playing cards, your Cause isn’t consumed. You may play up to 2 cards each turn. The only
restriction is that you must meet the level requirement in order to play a card.

In order to play a card, you must drag it from your hand to the center of the Scene. There’s no
need to choose where to place a card, because they are automatically arranged.

Characters: When played, Characters enter the scene Exhausted and may not attack. At the start
of the next turn, they become Alert and may choose to attack the opponent Leader or their
Characters. After attacking, Characters once again become Exhausted.

Attack: When attacking, a Character will deal damage to the defender’s resistance equal to that
character’s Attack. If attacking other Characters, the attacker will also receive damage equal to the
defender’s attack. If the damage received is greater than the remaining resistance, the character is
destroyed. Damaged characters remain damaged until recovered by an effect, or when removed
from play (destroyed or dedicated).

Events: When Event cards are played, they trigger their effect immediately and are then discarded.

Conditions: Conditions are played into the Shelter, and may be activated whenever the player
chooses to. It is possible to activate a Condition as soon as it comes into play. Most conditions
have a set amount of charges that determines how many times they can be activated. Each
condition may be activated only once per turn. When the last charge is used, the Condition is
destroyed.

End turn: When playing against the computer, when you wish to end your turn, you must click on
the “End Turn” button located on the right and center of the screen. When playing with other
players, your turn lasts at the most 90 seconds, and you may end it early by clicking the “End turn”
button.
Require cards: Dedicated cards are not lost. Once per turn, you may choose to Require a card and
play it from your Cause, though this will lower your Cause.

To pick a card to Require, you must click the Cause pile, which is located on the bottom right of the
screen. By doing so, the cards available to require, which are the cards on your Cause pile, will be
displayed on the screen.

In order to require a card, you must click and drag it to the Require Button. You must meet the
level requirement of the card in order to require it. The card you pick will be played directly, and
will be considered as one of the two cards you can play each turn.

You may not require cards that were dedicated this turn, nor may you dedicate cards that were
required this turn.
Goals: In Causa, you may win a match by lowering your opponent’s resistance to 0. There are
different strategies to achieve it.

The first approach is to play powerful cards and attack your opponent directly.

The second one is focused on Resources (decks): you must weaken your opponent in an indirect
manner, attacking their deck and interrupting their strategy. Whenever they must draw cards but
can’t, they’ll receive a high amount of damage.

If both players lose their last point of resistance at the same time, both will lose the match.
