THEORY OF
ARCHITECHTURE

futuristic

So simply, futuristic means something belongs in future, way ahead of our times. But nobody knows
exactly how will be the future is, so to make a general consent with the majority of the people, you need
to come up with something, don’t feel like ordinary. People need to be shocked and surprised.

futuristic

Simply, futuristic design can not happen only changing the appearance or technology level of the
product. It means changing the way of doing things much different than people get used to. And if you
also have a good foresight about how will future evolve, and able to grasp it with your design, viola, you
had a futuristic design.

futuristic

That kind of sensational feeling on people, can be realized by hi-tech, by a different emotional
experience, or by the appearance of the product. These may vary and differ.
deconstructive design/deconstructivism

Deconstructivism is a movement of postmodern architecture which appeared in the 1980s, which gives
the impression of the fragmentation of the constructed building. It is characterized by an absence of
harmony, continuity, or symmetry.

deconstrive design/deconstructivism

an architectural movement or style influenced by deconstruction that encourages radical freedom of

form and the open manifestation of complexity in a building rather than strict attention to functional
concerns and conventional design elements (such as right angles or grids)

deconstrive design/deconstructivism

Deconstructivism is a Postmodern architectural style characterised by the idea of fragmentation and the
manipulation of a structure’s surface. Buildings adopting the style are often formed of components that
have been disassembled and reassembled in a new and unorthodox way, giving the impression of a
chaotic design devoid of precise logic.

post modernism

Postmodernism is a broad movement that developed in the mid- to late-20th century across philosophy,
the arts, architecture, and criticism and that marked a departure from modernism.[1][2][3] The term has
also more generally been applied to the historical era following modernity and the tendencies of this
era.[4] (In this context, "modern" is not used in the sense of "contemporary", but merely as a name for a
specific period in history.)

post modernism

Postmodernism, also spelled post-modernism, in Western philosophy, a late 20th-century movement

characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an
acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power.

parametric
Parametric design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters
and rules that, together, define, encode and clarify the relationship between design intent and design
response.

Parametric design is a paradigm in design where the relationship between elements is used to
manipulate and inform the design of complex geometries and structures.

cybertecture

A finite land mass for the ever growing world population and limited resources are the two major
challenges that architects and planners have to respond to now and in the future. A large chunk of these
resources, goes into the creation of infrastructure, making architecture a very responsible profession.

‘Imagineers’ can design their own destiny, says architect James Law. Inspired by nature and a firm
believer of integration of design and technology, Law has evolved a very peculiar style of architecture
that has been called cybertecture. With works spread over major parts of the globe he is working
consistently on both aspects of the building, he comes up with innovative ideas to create technology
empowered buildings. The buildings that he designs are smart, efficient and make their contribution to
the planet. The extensive use of computer simulations has an important role to play in designing these
efficient buildings which are able to withstand the challenges that they are confronted with. The man
has also developed himself into a product designer, designing highly specialized products for his projects
and towards a larger goal of unification of the physical and digital living. The cybertecture mirror and the
cybertecture nodal points are some of the significant innovations by James. The integration of
technology makes possible energy efficient buildings, as they change vital parameters of the building to
suit real time data.
