Project Summary:

The concept of the street children in our communities had received slight
attention from our society the most common description of street child is
“any girl or boy who has reached to his/her adulthood, for whom the
‘street’ has become her or his abode and/or a source of livelihood and
who inadequately protected, supervised or directed by responsible
adult.” According to UN sources there are up to 150 million street
children in the world today who, for one reason or another, spend most
of their lives on the streets. Some live there with their families in
temporary or insecure environments, others spend their days begging,
hawking or selling to make money and go back to family homes at night,
while for some the street is their only home where they spend day and
night.
This research aims to investigate the live experiences of the street
children in Karachi, although street children can be found in all over
Pakistan approximately rate of street child is 1.2 million, and the
perspectives may vary regionally. The main purpose or agenda of this
study was to describe and get the diversified responses of the street
children’s experiences directly from their point of view. No matter what
their individual circumstance, street children are extremely vulnerable
and refused many of their basic rights. On the streets, children face
stigmatization and discrimination and are at increased risk of corruption
and abuse. Denied access to education, basic health services and social
protection, with no chance to go to school or learn skills needed for their
futures, they are confined to a life of even deeper poverty and
deprivation.
Our goal or objective to make life easy for needy people in our society,
because they are also a part of social circle. We could not ignore them or
judge them on the status in society and physical representation or their
very own perceptive of life and their norms and culture tradition. Our
objective is to make street children realize that they can also dream and
live a prefect life like others, and to provide them education and skills so
they can earn for better living and upraise their statuses in society and
help other (street children) to survive in this harsh world.

The main factor of campaign is dismantle the poverty from our society,
because more street children will increase the ratio of inflation and crime
rate and afterward it will directly affect our country economy by all
means, the main key factor is increase rate of Berger and mafia that our
dismantle our economy and creating chaos in our society.

This report or project will be providing an understanding into some of

the survived involvements of the street children in Karachi. By
emphasizing main facts and figures of these street children on which
society need to act for the betterment of their future. This social act
could be beneficial for the people around us because it will attain a Hugh
amount of push for making survival easy for street children. By
contributing the maximum amount of attention we could depart this
curse of street children from our society and automatically it would
valuable to stabilize the nation economy. Action Plan: To make and
an impact on society and to provide better life to street children.

Impact of This Project on Street Children and Society:

Firstly, the purpose of conducting this research and project is about to
spread awareness and gain attention from society, we started awareness
campaign in different education sector (school, colleges etc.). By
attaining their attention we could help these street children in our
society. Secondly we started a campaign for street children and start
changing their life by providing them with all the necessities (food and
clothes, etc.) of their life. Street children are abandoned just because of
they are bit different from others so for that we highlighted the slogan
for aware-ring the people of our society “THEY BELONG TO US”.
For sure they are the bright future of our beloved country (Pakistan), all
they need is proper guidance and love from others so they can have a
purpose to live their life at its fullest. It’s our duty to help them so they
wouldn’t end-up in the wrong hands doing criminal activities. And
foremost we need to build up a healthy environment for street children
so it would help them sense more creativity from the world. It is life
changing experience for the street children and for us too because it
leads all of us to the same destination and that’s true meaning life and
spiritual satisfaction.

Major Obstacles or Challenges:

The major obstacles or challenges were, we had to gather sum of street

children at the same time it was quiet challenging task for our team
afterward arranging a place, educational items and food etc. conveyance
for our team was also a puzzling tasks to do. Because majority of street
children does not care about care about their future all they care about is
arrange food and clothes for their family, to motivate them was quiet
difficult for us. Convincing their parents were difficult because they
don’t trust third person and foremost their children are sole earning hand
of their families. Eventually these children were struck in middle
nowhere. No education, no proper food, no proper skills and no proper
shelter. We do provide them with food, clothes just to fulfil they basic
necessities, so they can focus on their education and build-up their future
and achieve what they had been dream since day one. Providing
guidance tough because every child has his/her own perceptive and all
they want is fulfil their need by any means.

Acknowledgments:

Behind this perfectly frame project, there are vital educational institution
that help us to build-up a convenient path for the street children. DHA
College and school is first and foremost a golden opportunity for our
team to spread awareness in youth (future generation) and main help us
by donating old book and stationary for street children. After that NGO
or some kind of street school Citizen Educational Development
Federation Mobile School they help our team by arranging street
children at their venue. For us to provide them food, clothes and spend
quality time and educate them.
It is our responsibility that we aren’t fulfilling it properly that we should
help our fellow men in any situation in their life.
Project Activities:

Initially the main preparation

of activities were simple but
effective, we plan-out that we
should arrange a proper
awareness campaign through
which we can attract more
people in one time, so for that
we targeted educational
institute so we start delivering
awareness speech in pairs,
afterward we switch to
CEDFM school where we
start spending a quality time
with street children and we try
to participate with them in
sport activities that they have
been doing, afterward our plan was to provide them with a quality lunch
and stationary items (books, pencils, etc.) and providing clothes to the
needy people was also a part of this activity.

Carrying out activities was typical task to do with different perceptive of
other team mates but everything a side we maintain our good will and
creative strategies were pulled out and through all the team work we
accomplished our goals which was to provide a healthy life and
environment to those children that abandoned form our society just
because they are a threat to us, firstly we all our human being and it is
our responsibility to take care of one another.
We have learned about how to design and carry out a project:
Create A Unity Between Team Members:

It’s very important to create and maintain a unity between team

members. If there will no unity between team members the project will
not end successfully. And for unity understanding is very important, that
each of the members understand each other. It’s a good thing to help out
each other in a work. If someone is not getting the work properly it’s our
responsibility to help them out. It’s a good way of doing the team work.
It’s a best way to carry out a project.
Respect Each Other Opinions:

To respect each other opinion is necessary in a team work or in a project,

if we will not listen each other opinion the project will not be complete
positively. That’s why to respect each other opinion is an important part
to carry out a project well.
Divide The Equal Work:

If we will divide the work into parts so the each member of the group
will get equal work to do. Dividing the work equally will be more
convenient for each member of the group.
Discipline:

The discipline in a team work is very important thing to do. No one can
be succeeding without discipline

Skills we learnt:

The skills we learned during a project are how to do a team work, how
to lead and motivate others. We’ve learned that how to convince the
people. For example: We convince the Principle in the DHA School to
give awareness to their children. And secondly we convince the street
children that they can studied. We have learned how to motivate others,
e.g. we’ve motivated street children. We get to know in the project that
how to interact with others, how to work with a people that we don’t
know. We have learned many others skills that can help in our lives.

Social Responsibility:

Regarding social responsibility we have learned that it doesn’t matter

that anyone is rich or poor everyone is a part of our society. And we
have responsibility of both of them, for example we’ve a responsibility
towards rich people to aware them and guide them that everyone is
equal, and they should support them in every possible way. And
secondly we’ve a responsibility towards poor people is that we should
support them, motivate them and tell them that they are a part of us.
They are us. It’s a responsibility of every human to give support to the
needy people, help them and spend some quality time with them. People
around us are in-need of help we should help in their tough time so they
can life happily. World itself is a beautiful creation of the God. No
matter what it is our duty to maintain discipline in our society to keep
everyone safe and secure, Support campaigns and research creativities
dealing with street children should be encouraged at all levels. The
government should play an active role in spreading information on street
children. This will help in raising awareness on one of the most

Marginalized groups in the society. Poverty relief initiatives aimed at

helping the urban poor should be advanced. In this context, special
attention should be paid to the parents of street children by providing
them with economic opportunities and skills training. Such creativities
may discourage parents from forcing their children to work on streets
By improving the overall economic condition of the family.
