1. “I am the Lord thy God, thou
shalt not have any strange gods
before Me.”
2. “Thou shalt not take the name
of the Lord thy God in vain.”
3. “Remember to keep the
Sabbath Day holy.”
4. “Honor thy father and thy
mother.”
5. “Thou shall not kill.”
6. “Thou shall not commit
adultery.”
7. “Thou shall not steal.”
8. “Thou shall not bear false
witness against thy neighbor.”
9. “Thou shall not covet thy
neighbor’s wife.”
10. “Thou shall not covet thy
neighbor’s goods.”

PROHIBITIONS
 This commandment
forbids idolatry, the
worship of false gods and
goddesses.
 This commandment tells
us that we should avoid
blasphemy and profanity.
 This commandment tells
us that we should not
think about work on
Sundays for it is the
Lord’s Day.
 We must never disobey
our parents.
 This commandment tells
us not to kill as we are in
no place to take someone
else’s life.
 This commandment
forbids the actual,
physical act of having
immoral sexual activity,
specifically adultery,
which is sex with
someone else’s spouse
or a spouse cheating on
their partner.
 This commandment
forbids the act of taking
someone else’s property.
 This commandment
condemns lying.
 This commandment
forbids the intentional
desire and longing for
immoral sexuality.
 This commandment
forbids the wanting to or
taking someone else’s
property.
OBLIGATIONS
 As children of God, we
should keep our faith and
love for God. We must be
committed to one God
only.
 The faithful are required
to honor the name of
God. We must respect
the sacredness of God’s
name.
 We should rest and pray,
attend the mass, and
refuse to do any kind of
unholy work.
 This commandment
obliges the faithful to
show respect for their
parents — as
children and adults.
 We must cherish the gift
of life that God has
granted to each and one
of us.
 We must practice chastity
and know that sexual
acts are sacred.
 We must learn to respect
what is of not ours.
 We must honor the truth
for it is said that God is
regarded as the author of
all truth.
 We must keep our
thoughts pure.
 We must learn to be
contented and satisfied
with own goods. We
should also appreciate
what is ours.
