Reflection Paper

Throughout this course I wasn’t really aware about drugs, the substance abuse of

it. This course went through the backgrounds of each drug, from how they were made, to

the time period it mainly affected, and how dangerous it is. Not many people know alot

about drugs. Some know the basic drugs such as cocaine, marijuana etc, but not the

others and how they were produced.

The value of information that I have learned from this course would be very

helpful. I am able to teach others about how dangerous drugs are, and the people that

sell drugs as well are the most dangerous especially in the neighborhoods. With my life

as well we do see a lot of drug dealers around the neighborhood, people will think they

don’t carry any weapons, but it is very dangerous to be around them. With useful

information that I had gained from this course, I am able to warn people about those

areas with drug dealers.

Career wise with this information will be helpful as well, I am currently going into

a health related degree and towards a psychology degree. Learning how it affects people

especially with their mental health will help me further along with my career. Mental

health is very important and learning how drugs affect their mental health is important

for myself and others to keep on learning about how bad it affects their brains. Mainly
half of the patients that go to therapy are or have been associated with drugs. And

learning about the symptoms is a helpful skill in learning,
