DESCRIPTION OF SP.WALL SYSTEM

I

!

a

The Speed SP-Wall system is precast retaining wall system which consists of 3 components, namely:-

r

r

r

Reinforced Concrete Pillar.

Reinforced Concrete Spannine Panel.

Tie Back System.

The stability of system is obtained from passive earth with pressure mobilized in front of the embedded toe

of the wall and it has been enhanced by additional support through the deployment of anchors, ties, struts

placed at appropriate level at the back of RC Pillar.

;

The SP-Wall system is mainly used to retain earth exposed smooth concrete surfaces. The RC Pillar and RC Spanning Panel can be installed easily and efficiently because of the built-in self mounting joint. The

RC Piliar will be driven into the soil by using vibro - hammer or hydraulic drop hammer followed by

mounting of RC Spanning Panel between two RC Pillars. It can be installed

in straight line or curve profile

follows the required / design alignment. The sequence of installation is described following:-

align in position and to drive the RC Pillar.

Panel and place tie back anchor or cast capping beam.

Backfilling and finishing.

;

The SP-Wall system can be used for the following purpose:-

r

Shoreline and slope protection.

r River widenins and river bank protection.

r

Retaining walffor land reclamaiion.

r Extended soil platform for addition

r Channel lining for drainage system.

space for residentiali commercial land development

:

r

r

r

The SP-Wali system require light machineries and small access road for installation.

The deep penetration of spanning panel into soil profile and it will not affect by to erosion or scouring which normally happen at conventional retaining wall.

Fast installation and no additional temporary work is require to save the time and cost.

The well design joints eliminate the gaps normally happen between precast drain or L-shape units.

t Easy to transport

I

as compared with large size L-shape units.

Efficient SP-Wall ciesien has minimized the foundation cost sisnificantlv.

Speed Concrete Standard Size Box Culverts (not exceeding

I B00mm width and l800mm height) are designed to cater for backfill superimposed dead load not exceeding 2m depth

(inclusive of pavement) plus 45 units of HB vehicle primary

live loads.

*

Speed Concrete Standard Size Box Culverts also comply with proof test load of I 12.5 lN over an area of 320mnl x 320mm placed at any position on the Culvert Lid.

*

*

Testing procedure is in accordance to AS 1597:Part I:1971.

Speed Concrete Super Size Box Culverts are designed to cater for backfill superimposed dead load not exceeding 2m depth

(inclusive of pavement) plus 45 units of HB vehicle primary

live loads.

*

*

Hydrostatic pressures are eliminated by the provision of 50mm diameter weepholes placed along the centreline of the invert wall.

The bacldill material beside the culvert shail be used granular tlpe soil for better drainage without incurring any ponding behind the wall.
