Victoria Beckham

Victoria Caroline Beckham is an English singer-songwriter, dancer, model, actress, fashion designer and business
woman. She was born on April 17, 1974, in Essex, England. She became famous in the 1990's with the pop group
"The Spice Girl"and was known as Posh Spice. In 1999, she married the Manchester United and England footballer,
David Beckham. They have four children, three sons and a daughter.

After The Spice Girl split up, she pursued a solo singer career, but also started her own fashion range called dVb
Style. Since this initial foray into fashion Victoria Beckham has brought out her own range of sunglasses and
fragrance, entitled "Intimately Beckham"and a range of handbags and jewelry.

In addition she had written two best-selling books: one her autobiography and the other, a fashion guide.

Mohammad Hatta
Every year has its great men and women who are remembered for what they have done for their country.
One of Indonesia’s great men is Dr. Mohammad Hatta. He was a man with a deep love for his country and
people.
Dr. Mohammad Hatta was born in Bukittinggi on August 12 th, 1902. While still in junior high school
in Bukittinggi, he became interested in politics and joined the Le ague of Young Sumatrans.
He left Bukittinggi to study in Batavia. Then he went to the Netherlands. He studied economics and
gained a doctorate degree there. During his stay there he was active in the national Movement. Because of his
activities, he was arrested.
In 1923 Hatta returned to Indonesia. He joined a political organization called “Pendidikan Nasional
Indonesia”. One of its goals was to develop political awareness among the Indonesian people. His activities
again led to his arrest. The colonial government exiled him to Boven Digul, and later to Banda Naira. Shortly
before the Japanese invasion. He was brought back to Java.
When the Japanese surrendered in August 1945, Soekarno and hatta proclaimed Indonesia’s
Independence. Hatta became the first vice-president of the Republic of Indonesia.
In 1956 Hatta resigned as vice-president and devoted himself to writing. On march 14, 1981, dr.
mohammad Hatta passed away in Jakarta.
Nowadays, he is no longer living among us. However, his spirit of loving the co untry and nation is one
of the reason why he is well remembered.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I am writing to share my enjoyable experience with you. I hope this letter will find you all well. Yesterday, my
friends and i went to visit five tourism objects in Jojakarta and its surrrounding, e.g. the Sultan Palace, Tamansari
Water Castle, Monumen Yogja Kembali, Prambanan Temple, and Borobudur Temple. We hired a mini bus. Budi,
my friend in Yogyakarta, acted as a tour guide. We departed very early in the morning and were back home at 6:15
p.m. So, we spent the whole day.

All of the five objects are interesting but Borobudur and Prambanan temples are more interesting than the others.
Borobudur is a Buddhist temple, while Prambanan is a Hindu one. A freind of mine said that these two temples were
really wonderful. After I saw them by myself, they are even more wonderful than what imagined. Of these two
temples, Borobudur is the most wonderful temple I have ever seen. It is much bigger than Prambanan. I am sure you
will admire it too. Make sure you take your camera with you when you visit it next year.

Well, I will write letter to you again next week to tell you more about the temples.
