Interview – Walt Disney

1. Ok, Mr. Walt Disney. Fisrt of all, I would like to ask you a little about
your talents. What can you tell us about your graphic skills?
Well, I do not have great skills as a graphic artist, but I have to admit that
sometimes I act out a whole movie so that the animators know exactly
what to draw. That’s hard, as you can imagine, but amazing! I know
exactly what I want and even though I can’t always articulate my
thoughts, I am able to express what’s in my mind.
2. Who inspired you and, most of all, who influenced you to make these
cartoons? As you can see, your work is still appreciated these days!
Thank you, that’s right! My work is still alive! What I can tell you about
my inspiration in life? It’s obvious that the only one who saved my career
was Charlie Chaplin. He was my hero and there are no other words here! I
was simply fascinated by everything this man did. Also, he was the one
who inspired Mickey Mouse!
3. Now that we know who was your source of inspiration, can you tell
us a little about your magnificent work, Disneyland? What’s the story
behind Disneyland?
The truth is that, as a kid, I was living in a country side. That means to be
surrounded by animals, nature and purity. Years later, The concept for
Disneyland took form when I was visiting Griffith Park in Los Angeles
with my daughters, Diane and Sharon. While watching them ride
the merry-go-round, I came up with the idea of a place where adults and
their children could go and have fun together. And, as a result, now we
have Disneyland!
4. Let’s move on to your career. What was the road to a successful
company for you?
Oh, that was actually a great experience! In the mid 1950s, as other
studios dithered, I struck a deal with the ABC television network for a
weekly peaktime series, which, for the first time, eased my cash-flow
problems. As a result, my face became as famous as my name.

5. Now that we know almost everything about Walt Disney, the

creator, we would like to know more about Walt Disney, the person
itself. Other people may think that you are happy all the time, that
your life is perfect. How is Walt Disney in his real life? How’s your
life?
If you think that Walt Disney has a happy life, you are wrong. Nobody
knows what perfect means, what absolute happiness means. My life is
not even close to what “perfect” means. I can’t tell you much about that, I
don’t want to. What I can say is that I’m not a good person at all and,
sometimes, I struggle with bad days as you, too.
6. Back to your work life. Some employees have been complaining that
you pay then poorly. What’s the truth? How you treat them?

I can’t tell you much about that. It’s not professional if I start to talk
about my work life that. You have to ask them if you want to find the
answers. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a fair boss. In
order to make quality products, I work hard to run my company and
maintain the standards that I have set.

7. I truly want to thank you for all your answers, Mr. Walt Disney.
Now, as a final question, can you tell us if there are any real
connections between you and FBI?
A mistery has to remain a mistery, right?...
