Dear hiring manager at Maricopa animal care and control,

My name is Maria Martinez, I am a sophomore at Arizona State University and I am majoring in

political science and spanish. As a lifelong lover of animals, I was thrilled to see the posting for
this adoption specialist position. I am positive that I can help Maricopa animal care and control
bring down the amount of animals already in the shelter and increase the amount of adoptions.

In my previous experiences, I have handled animals within the shelter and also assisted in
keeping their kennels clean. I also walked the dogs and socialized with them but most
importantly, assisted with the adoption process, all as a volunteer. I am also computer literate in
both microsoft office programs such as word and excel, as well as in the google drive programs
like google docs and google sheets.I have experience with creating websites, and I actually have
a website aimed to helping shelter animals called; The journey to a home. I am able to preserve
courtesy and professionalism during stressful situations.

I know that Maricopa animal care and control’s plans aim to give every single animal in the
shelter a home, and this job is a perfect match for me because of my passions for animals. This
job would be a perfect opportunity for me to further educate not only myself on animals in the
shelters, but every single person that decides to come to the shelter looking for their new best
friend. I also know that this is the perfect opportunity for me to use all my technology skills in
order to get more publicity for the shelter and get all the animals in the shelter a forever home.
