Yarn:
430 yards of fingering/sock weight yarn.
Needles:
one set of size US8 / 5mm circular knitting needles.
Notions:
stitch markers (include one unique marker to denote centre stitch), needle to weave in ends,.

Mirabelle Stitch Dictionary
kfb:
knit into front and back of stitch. Results in 2 stitches.

Knot Stitch:
Row 1 (rs): *p3tog, do not drop stitch from left hand needle, yo, p3tog into same stitches, drop
from left hand needle. Repeat from *.
Row 2 (ws): purl

Butterfly Stitch:
(rs): *bring yarn to front, slip five stitches, bring yarn to back, k5. Repeat from *
(ws): purl
Note: to execute this stitch with ease, keep the yarn held in front loose.

Braid Stitch:
Row 1 (rs): *slip stitch as if to purl, k1, yo, pass slipped stitch over the knit and yarn over
stitches. Repeat from *
Row 2 (ws): purl

Chevron Stitch:
Row 1 (rs): *kfb, k6, slip 2 sts together as if to knit, k1, psso, k6, kfb. Repeat from *

Pattern
Section One:
Cast on 3 stitches.
Row 1(rs): kfb, kfb, k1
Row 2 (ws): knit
Row 3: k1, kfb, kfb, k2
Row 4: knit
Row 5: k2, kfb, kfb, k3
Row 6: k3, p3, k3
Row 7: k2, kfb (this establishes the right edge border stitches and will be repeated on every right
side row from now on), kfb, place marker to denote centre stitch, kfb, kfb, k3
Row 8: k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 9: k2, kfb, knit to stitch before marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, knit to last 4 sts, kfb, k3.
Row 10: k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Repeat rows 9 and 10 eight more times.

Section Two:

Row 1 (rs): k2, kfb, knit to stitch before marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, knit to last 4 sts, kfb, k3
Row 2 (ws): knit to stitch before centre marker, purl one (this is your middle stitch), knit to end.
Row 3: same as Row 1.
Row 4: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 5: k2, kfb, k1, (*yo, k2tog). Repeat from * to last 2 sts before marker, k1, kfb, slip marker,
kfb, k2, (**k2tog, yo). Repeat from ** to last 4 sts, kfb, k3.
Row 6: same as Row 4.
Row 7: same as Row 1.
Row 8: same as Row 2.
Row 9: same as Row 1
Row 10: same as Row 4.

Section Four:
Row 1 (rs): k2, kfb, k1, (*bring yarn to front, slip one stitch as if to purl, bring yarn to back, k1).
Repeat from * to last 2 stitches before centre stitch marker, bring yarn to front, slip one stitch as
if to purl, bring yarn to back, kfb, slip marker, kfb, k1, (**bring yarn to front, slip one stitch as if to

five more times, bring yarn to front, slip five stitches, bring yarn to back, place marker, k1, kfb,
slip centre stitch marker, kfb, k2, place marker, (**Butterfly Stitch). Repeat from ** five more
times, bring yarn to front, slip five stitches, bring yarn to back, place marker, k1, kfb, k3.
Rows 2, 4, and 6 (ws): k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3, 5 and 7: k2, kfb, knit to marker, (*Butterfly Stitch). Repeat to five stitches before marker,
bring yarn to front, slip five stitches, bring yarn to back, slip marker, knit to stitch before center
marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, knit to next marker, (**Butterfly Stitch as established in the second
half of Row 1) Repeat from ** to marker (this will include the one extra set of 5 slipped stitches),
knit to last 4 sts, kfb, k3.
Row 8 (ws): (NOTE: remove markers that denote the butterfly stitch section as you work this
row.) k3, p8, (*pick up strands with right hand needle, slip strands to left hand needle and purl
them together with the next stitch, p9). Repeat from * six more times, slip centre stitch marker,
p8, (** pick up strands with right hand needle, slip strands to left hand needle and purl them
together with the next stitch, p9). Repeat from ** six more times, but note that on the last repeat
you will only be purling 8 sts at the end instead of 9, k3.

Section Eight:

centre marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, (**Braid Stitch). Repeat from ** to last 4 sts, kfb, k3.
Row 2: k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3: k2, kfb, (*Braid Stitch). Repeat from * to last 2 stitches before centre marker, k1, kfb, slip
marker, kfb, k2, (**Braid Stitch). Repeat from ** to last 5 sts, k1, kfb, k3.
Row 4: repeat Row 2.
Row 5: repeat Row 1.
Row 6: repeat Row 2
Row 7: repeat Row 3
Row 8: repeat Row 2
Row 9: repeat Row 1
Row 10: repeat Row 2.

Section Nine:
Repeat 10 rows of Section Three.

Section Ten:
Row 1 (rs):k2, kfb, k3, place marker, (*Chevron Stitch – see stitch dictionary). Repeat from * to
1 stitch before centre marker, place marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, k1, place marker, (**Chevron
Stitch). Repeat from ** to last 5 stitches, place marker, k21, kfb, k3.
Row 2: k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3: k2, kfb, knit to marker, (*Chevron Stitch), Repeat from * to next marker, slip marker, knit
to stitch before centre marker, kfb, slip marker, kfb, knit to next marker, (**Chevron Stitch).
Repeat from ** to next marker, slip marker, knit to last 4 sts, kfb, k3.
Row 4: k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 two more times each.
From this point, continue knitting Rows 3 and 4 in garter stitch (knit all rows. So on the ws rows
you will knit across instead of k3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.) four more times.

Bind off loosely.

Sew in loose ends.

Thoroughly wet fabric, wring it out gently, lay flat on a towel and block so that the points of the
Chevron Stitch are prominent. Let air dry.
