I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson at least 90% of Grade 9 student will be able to:
1. Describe the nature and background of the dance.
2. Execute the skills involved in the dance.
3. Perform with mastery the basic steps and combination in cha-cha-cha
4. Have an interest to be involve oneself in community service through dance activities.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


a. TOPIC: Let’s Do the Cha-Cha-Cha
b. REFERENCE: Grade 9 Physical Education and Health (page-82-84)
c. MATERIAL: Manila Paper, Markers, Picture, Laptop and Adhesive
d. VALUES: Discipline, Appreciation, Self-development
e. STRATEGIES: Demonstration, Group Activity

A. ACTIVITY
 Give background of the cha-cha-cha
 Warm – up
 The student will perform a warm-up exercise to condition the body
 Warm-up: Dynamic stretching Exercise
 Give demonstration of the 4 element of cha-cha-cha
 Give demonstration on the basic figure in cha-cha-cha
 The student will be given 3 minutes to present the cha-cha-cha.

2. Doing the basic warm-up what do you think is the importance of it in our
life?

C. ABSTRACTION
What to KNOW:
 Where do you used the basic knowledge that you learned in social
dancing cha-cha-cha?

What to PROCESS:
 Can you apply the basic knowledge of cha-cha-cha in your life
especially to girls who want to celebrate with debut, JS Prom etc.

D. APPLICATION:
“Dancing with Me”
 The student by group will present the dance cha-cha-cha
 The student will be given 3 minutes to discuss and prepare
 They will be given 2 minutes to present

Valuing:
1. Why it important to be active in dance? What is the benefits of it?

Subject Integration:
Dancing is like personality development. In the subject Humanities
this is social graces, body posture and a way of showing respect. That why
it is called social dance because it needs right attitude, social graces and
decent attire and environment.

IV. EVALUATION
In what way you will appreciate the beauty of social dance cha-cha-cha. Site and
example of its used.

In one whole sheet of paper of short band paper search the following dances and
give their definitions and its origin.
1. Latin American Dance
2. Modern Standard Dance
