Reflection Paper
As I reflect on all the things I have learned in this class, I am proud to say I have gained so much
more knowledge about computers/computer programs than when I came into the class. I have to
admit that I was most excited to learn about Excel spreadsheets, but I became excited about
everything we learned. I learned the proper terms for programs, I learned how to make
brochures, make a spreadsheet, etc. The things I learned in this class will definitely come in
handy in my future.
One goal I achieved from this class was “Create a web-based personal portfolio showcasing
learning throughout the semester.” I created my own website using Weebly and uploading my
work throughout the semester onto it. I am very proud of my portfolio, and I know I will
continue to use it into my future. At first, I was overwhelmed with the portfolio, but as we
continued to work on it and learn the different features, it became extremely fun to create.
The second goal I achieved was “Approach new computer-based tasks more easily and with
greater confidence.” Coming into this class, I had thought I knew most things about computers
and software programs, but I finished this class with new shortcuts, how to use spreadsheets, and
speak computer lingo. I gained more confidence in using computers and I have learned how to be

The third goal I achieved in this class was “Demonstrate electronic information management
habits.” Before starting this class, I always knew to save all my files on Google Drive, a flash
drive, or anything like that. But, after finishing this class, I understand how extremely important
it is to continue those saving habits. You never know if your computer might crash and all your
files are gone. I learned that computers are done and the humans working them are smart, so it
would be useful for the human to use their smarts and be extra cautious when saving files on a
computer.
The knowledge I have gained from this class has better prepared me for my future. I want to be
an English teacher, and teaching requires lots of technology skills now, so I will use my
knowledge in my career. Teachers use multiple apps, software programs, even different types of
technology; I feel I have gained flexibility in my computer skills that will help me in my future
career.
My top learning goal for this class was to learn how to use Excel. I can proudly say that I have
learned, at least the basics, of Excel. I felt the most “light bulb” moments when we learned
Excel; when Mr. Lewallen explained just the basics of Excel, it seemed so easy! I do not know
how I went this long without knowing how to use Excel. I know my skills in Excel will come in

I am eager to continue learning new skills in technology and see where technology takes me. I
think being knowledgeable in technology is a very important skill to have today and I am glad
