Teachers: Charlie Day, retired psychologist and founder in 1994 and guiding teacher of the Des Moines Meditation Group (DMMG), studied spiritual practices for over 45 years in the US, India, and Thailand. He teaches meditation as a psychological and spiritual growth technique and Buddhist philosophy as a way of living compatible with all religions. Charlie teaches classes, lectures, and guides individuals in their practice. Fred Nelson, co-teacher with Charlie of DMMG and the Mitchellville Meditation Group at the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women, will lead a lovingkindness meditation. Retreat: Sponsored by the Des Moines Meditation Group, this retreat is open to new and experienced meditators. It includes instructions for sitting, walking, lovingkindness, and eating meditations, and a talk. Bring a cushion, mat, or meditation bench if you have them. Chairs and a few floor cushions are available. Wear comfortable clothes. Please do not wear scented lotions or perfumes because some persons may be allergic. Lunch is free and hosted by Cris Douglass, DMMG Assistant.

Donation: Teachers do not charge for leading retreats because they regard Buddha's teachings as priceless. Instead, they gratefully appreciate donations or Dana, the Pali word for generosity, as a way for you to help support the teacher and the continuation of the teachings. Register: Leave your name and email with Cris Douglass, DMMG Assistant, at DesMoinesMeditationGroup@yahoo.com. To preserve the group experience, please do not register if you cannot commit to attending the entire day. Feel free to share and post this flier,
