Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

Being Innovative and ingenuity has been the most constant traits among humans
since the beginning of time. We have conquered different challenges and made
new discoveries with our creative minds. However, some of us possessed minds
with a cut above the rest—we, the engineers. Our craft has shaped the world for a
long period of time. We gave solutions to satisfy the human nature of curiosity.
When people wanted to see the world from a different height, airplanes were
made. When people thought of exploring the seven seas, Ships were born. When
people sought for the answers to what’s beyond our skies, we made it possible. Our
ingenious, crafty minds carried out and materialized theories written in books and
surpassed our limits to create a world of advancements, a world of endless
possibilities.
Here in the New Era University, we witnessed first-hand how brilliant are the minds
of Engineers. We achieved numerous feats and built our very own monuments in
the school with Topnotch results in the NEU annual science fair that ranked 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd, in their respective categories, hosting the very first NCR Regional
Conference and the 8th National student convention by the PSME. This is a very
proud year for us because in this year, we had the chance to showcase our crafts
and go hand in hand with other institutions to lift up the stature of Mechanical
Engineers not only in our school, but also in the whole Philippines. Personally, I
learned a lot during these events, not only in academics, but I also learned a lot in
managing and handling such events, communicating effectively with people, and
balancing the stress and pressure of being a graduating student and a President of
the AMES. Leading the org was never easy, but it will always be a great place of
learning skills needed for the professional world. The org helped build not only
mine but everyone’s character as an engineer and has given lots of opportunities
that will greatly benefit us as we start to thread the path of being a professional
engineer.
Tonight, we are not here only to commemorate our achievements inside the org,
but we are here to celebrate our concluding year as Mechanical Engineering
students. I feel nostalgic as I remember how we managed to reach this point, how
we struggled through year by year. All those nights of cramming, being derived of
sleep, all those depressing times to pass every semester, I can now see how worth
it they are. Those times of hardships made us stand here tonight and made us
resilient to any challenge hurled to us. It helped us mature into responsible people,
made us efficient as students and adults alike. And as our curtain closes here in the
school, I can say that we are now truly prepared for the new path that is now
showing itself in front of us, the road to becoming licensed, and professional
engineers.
Before I conclude this speech, I would like to take my time to thank the officers for
sticking up until this last event, the UNMESH, for doing more than what you are
assigned to do, for exerting time and effort to make every feat we accomplished
possible. Thank you for bearing me out and being patient with me. Next, I would
like to thank the professors who guided us officers with making decisions and
uplifting the morale of everyone inside the org and for everything else you selflessly
done for us. And lastly, every student here tonight. Thank you for endlessly
supporting the org’s projects and ideals and if it weren’t for you guys, we wouldn’t
be here tonight.

The reason for all these successes was not intellect alone. It wasn’t because there
was someone who was a cut above the rest, it wasn’t because we had the
resources, It was because of everyone’s collective effort. Because no man is an
island, we needed each other to help each other out in our time of need. We
progressed not as an individual but as a team. And that is what I sincerely hope for
when we all part ways and journey on our own as engineers. I hope that we never
forget where we came from, and never forget all the people who helped us to get
where we are now. But the most of all, we must never forget the one who placed
us and everyone else here, our Almighty God. This is all I have to say—Our batch is
a batch no one can ever replicate; Congratulations, Engineers.
