Title of Presentation Influence Of Industry-Integrated Learning In
Preparing BME Graduates For The World Of Work
Short Summary of what you’ll cover in Engineering UK indicate lower representation of black
presentation (50-100 words) and ethnic minorities (BME) in engineering professions
This can be attributed to a wide range of socio-economic
factors, including a lack of professional advice at critical
junctures in the engineering career progression.

Transition is a scheme that equips graduates with the

tools required to use their engineering knowledge.

A survey carried out of individuals who attended the

programme between 2012 and 2016 showed that more
than 87.5% felt better prepared for interviews; 70% had
secured a job within 12 months, and 78% believe that the
Transition programme contributed to their success.
