Children education has always been a primary preoccupation of parents. Nowadays, more and more
courses on parenting skills and child development are being opened; however, whether parents should
enroll in such courses or not still remain in controversy. From my perspective, I strongly agree with this
statement for the reasons discussed below.

First and foremost, parenting courses can help parents acquire crucial knowledge and skills on
childcare. On taking these classes, they have the opportunity to socialize with other parents and experts
about practical experiences as well as useful guidance on necessities. Thus, these parents become more
proactive and more likely to resolve matters of their children quickly thanks to beforehand knowledge.
For example, during puberty, teenagers often experience sudden changes in emotions, which makes
them capricious and sometimes aggressive ; therefore, with parents who are not experienced, such
courses will help them find suitable ways to assist their children’s growing process.

Secondly, parenting includes special methods required to educate children. A child’s point of view is
different from that of an adult. Thence, special approach to children’s mindset so as to shape their
manners is a must. But if parents are unable to find proper means to influence children’s frame of mind,
the results will be terrific. For instance, infants and toddlers usually behave instinctively, such as
throwing tantrums, then prepared parents will obviously know hơ to calm them down, whereas others
may get angry and even resort to violence to teach their children.

The opponents put forward an idea that a course cannot cover everything that any parents should
know. Admittedly, this view is valid to some extent. Growing is a complicated process affected by
internal and external factors while no factors are similar and each child is distinct, so there cannot exist
specific classes for each parents. However, the above view fails to acknowledge that even parents do
not know all vital things, either and that such courses only aim to assist those who need help in
nurturing children. These classes may not contain every detail but they provide the most basic skills and
information, including sharings from many other parents, about dealing with children’s problems, which
is especially advantageous for new parents.

The discussion above has asserted my opinion that it is advisable for parents to join parenting courses.
Such classes prove to be efficacious as the help parents grasp both fundamental and special skills to
educate their offsprings. Still, this is just a choice among many other methods to raise children;
therefore, it will be most sensible that parents find suitable ways for themselves with a view to the most
glorious results.
