Contractions
Pronouns
Los artículos indeterminados en Inglés son “A” y “An”, ambos tienen el mismo
significado: “UN, UNA”, se usan solo en singular, tanto para el masculino como para el
femenino. Pero existe una regla que nos permite distinguir cuando se usa “A” o “An”

Se usa “A”: cuando la siguiente palabra empiece con consonante. Ejemplo:

I am a Teacher
You are a student
He is a mechanic
She is a nurse
It is a table
It is a house
It is a hotel
It is a horse

Se usa “An”: cuando la siguiente palabra empiece con vocal o “H” muda. Ejemplo:

THE PLURAL
Existe un conjunto de reglas que nos permiten saber como cambiar los sustantivos
del singular al plural. Debemos tener en cuenta que los sustantivos son las únicas
palabras (en ingles) que tiene plural. Por lo tantos los adjetivos, adverbios, verbos
entre otros no tiene plural.

1. Cuando el sustantivo termina en S,SS, SH,CH,X, O se debe agregar ES. Ejemplo:

VERB “HAVE”

A este verbo no se le agrega S en ninguna situación, puesto que tiene su propia


conjugación para las terceras personas (he, she, it). En las preguntas y oraciones
negativas siempre se usa HAVE, pero en las oraciones afirmativas depende del
sujeto.

THE POSSESSIVE FORMS


Possessive Case: Para indicar que algo le pertenece a alguien, debemos agregar (‘S)
al poseedor, pero si el nombre del poseedor termina en (S) de plural se agrega solo el
apostrofe (‘). En algunos casos cuando el nombre del poseedor termina en (S) de plural,
también se agrega el apostrofe solamente.
