Pedagogy In this activity, my students are going to use pixorize.com to create an image that
directly reflects the meaning both in Latin and in English of the word or words

they are having the most trouble understanding or remembering. This activity will
allow students to connect word meaning with imagery and make connections that
will better assist them in memory of derivatives and root words. It will also take a
technologically creative approach to word meaning and allow students to expand
their methods of learning vocabulary and derivatives.

The students will take a Latin word or root word, and
find an associated image or create an image (outside
of program) that best represents the meaning of that
word. They will then place a point or other shape on
the image that will reveal the latin meaning of the
word.. They can then go back and use this as a flash
card, associating the derivative with the image. From
here, the students can make multiple
image/flashcards to study from.

words to memorize. These words will be
used for this assignment).
