1. Objective of the Course: The Board of Studies organizes Four
Weeks’ Residential Programme on Professional Skills Development with an objective to offer unique opportunity to the Chartered Accountancy students and newly qualified Chartered Accountants in imbibing the professional skills required for effective functioning in business organisation and the profession. The Programme environment focuses on development of communication skills, personal qualities, interpersonal and teamwork skills, problem solving skills and leadership skills etc. 2. Salient Features: Some of the salient features of the course are as follows: Emphasis on Soft Skills, Communication Skills and Personality Development. Part of Articleship Training. Management and Communication Skills (MCS) forming part of Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS) need not be pursued. Special Sessions on Group Discussion. Preparation of Projects and Presentation Skills. Building Team Spirit. 3. Eligibility: All the students who have passed Chartered Accountancy Intermediate/IPCC/ PCC/ PE – II Examination and pursuing last year or completed Practical training are eligible to join the course. Newly qualified Chartered Accountants are also welcome to join the course. 4. Part of Practical Training: Under Explanation (2) to Regulation 59 (7) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 participation in the Residential Programme on Professional Skills Development will be considered equivalent to undergoing practical training. Thus, the Board of Studies
period during which the training is undergone will be considered as an
integral part of practical training. 5. Ingenious Course Content: This residential programme is divided in different modules containing of various session throughout 28 days. The brief course contents are as follows: Developing Personal Traits Business Communication & Presentation Interpersonal & Negotiation Skills Practice Development and Management General Management Arbitration and Allied Laws Current Affairs/Sessions with Subject experts Sessions are delivered through our esteemed faculty members having expertise in their respective subject area. 6. Course Duration: The duration of this fully residential course is four weeks. The course dates are announced in advance and the same is circulated/announced on the Institute’s website. 7. Course Fee: The fee per participant for Four Weeks Residential Programme is Rs.60,000/- on residential basis inclusive of course, Lodging, Study Material, Daily Meal, Tea/Refreshment etc. The payment should be made through online mode using Credit card or Net Banking. However, applicants may also register themselves by paying 20% of the fees. 8. Selection Criteria: In case of over-response, students will be selected on the basis of logical criteria. First preference may be given to the qualified Chartered Accountants. Candidates who had applied but were refused admission in the earlier batches will also be appropriately considered. All decisions by the competent authority on selection will be final and binding. Intimation through mail will be sent to applicants on selection/ non-selection. 9. Benefits of pursuing ‘Four Weeks Residential Programme’: Exemption from Management and Communication Skills (MCS) of AICITSS: Students pursuing ‘Four Weeks Residential Board of Studies
Programme’ would not be required to undergo separate
Management and Communication Skills (MCS) of Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS). Teaching Methodology: Multiple modern education techniques are used to make learning wholesome and interesting. Few among the various methods including Class/Group Discussion, Management Games, Role Plays, Simulation Exercises, Case Studies, Project preparation and Presentation by Participants, Mock Interviews etc., are used extensively. Exemption from Payment of Fees to top 10 rank holders: Top 10 rank holders of the Professional Competence Examination (PCE)/ Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE)/Intermediate and Final Examination effective from November, 2010 examination onwards are exempted from payment of fees for attending the residential programme on Professional Skills Development Programme. Industrial Visit/City Tour (optional): One optional city tour is arranged for the participants of residential programme. Amusements/activities: In addition of the course, participants have a facility for sport/game at the Campus. Certificate of Completion: After completing and filling of faculty feedback form, students are eligible to obtain certificate of the programme. 10. 12. General: Students are required to complete the Course without discontinuity. However, in exceptional circumstances, approval from the Director, Board of Studies has to be taken for a maximum of two days. Certificate shall not be issued to the student unless the student completes the course.
Students are required to maintain discipline and decorum apart
from adhering to the dress code specified above. For misbehavior/ nuisance in the class, the Board of Studies will have the power to make a note and on the basis of which issue of Programme Completion Certificate may be withheld. 13.
