A New Era of Africa
It is amazing to notice that Africa can progress in a significant way. I thought it was
interesting to know that Africa has had multiple scrambles ever since European imperialism,
because I’ve never really noticed. The fact that Africa may have a larger population by 2025
surprised me the most, but I can see why, especially after reading the article about China’s one
child policy. That policy will definitely distort their population causing a great decrease. As of
now Africa is able to seize economic opportunity and I think that they could definitely benefit as
long as they are wise in their decisions. After seeing how many embassies Turkey opened and
India opened that still does not compete with Africa. What is crazy is that it only took 6 years for
Africa to open 320 embassies and India lacked with 18 and Turkey with 26. However as Africa
improves I think it is irritating that there are stereotypes of Africa still being colonial because
I completely agree with Africa’s idea to maintain a transparent government. Without one
the people would not benefit, and the only ones benefitting would be the government and rich
people. By Africa showing unity within their government shows how new opportunity can grow
for everyone on the continent. The idea of unity is something that all countries need to find, and
togetherness is something that even our own government needs to maintain. As the nation grows
they no longer have to choose sides. Africa’s power increased which makes bargains easier for
them. It is good to see improvement from Africa because that could later benefit other countries,
especially since “2006 Africa’s three biggest trading partners were America, China and France,
in that order.” With Africa’s educational improvement and political competitiveness, the
continent can definitely become stronger, further developing more competition between other
countries. As long as Africa continues to progress their success could grow as well.
